The Storm Between Us *COMPLETED*

Backyard Camping

I slowly opened my eyes, my skin was cold and my lips were dry. I licked them slowly when I felt a slit on my lip, it stung a bit but then I felt one side of my cheek was swallow. My abs hurt like if Johnny worked me out twice as hard. I groaned and that's when I noticed I couldn't open my right eye. I could still see but it was very minimal. I heard talking by the door and that's when I saw Zeus talking to Johnny.

Johnny's blue eyes glared at Zeus but I think he was pissed at what happened. He had his arms locked together, he glanced at me and his eyes softened. "Hey, he's awake," he tapped Zeus on the shoulder as they both came closer. Zeus sat on the edge of the bed and Johnny stood in front.

"Hey," Zeus said. His eyes were red with dark circles underneath. His lips trembled and his eyes got watery. "I'm so sorry. I already did a police report, there is a warrant out for him," his words stuttered while I saw his throat swallow hard.

My throat was dry but I managed to say something. "It's ok, shit happens," he chuckled. "I'm ok, just my face hurts and my abs are sore but I'm alive, that's all that matters, right," and that's when I saw him cry. He wiped his tears fast. I felt a warm tear sting my eye and slowly go down my cheek.

"I wish he was in front of me. I would bash his face in," I smiled but that made my face sting even more. I glanced at Johnny who was cracking his knuckles. I love him, he always had my back as well.

"Hey, listen. I have to go in a few minutes," his voice stuttered and my heart broke into tiny pieces, he was leaving me again. I know just for a couple of weeks but I remember the last time I saw him. I never said goodbye. I saw him from a tree across his house. He got into his car and drove away. He was going to be the next big artist and I was left there with no friends anymore.

I think he saw my face soften and my eyes get watery. "I would cancel those shows and stay here with you but I can't do my fans like that, people have paid so much money to see me."

"This is your life, Zeus. You were a superstar before all this. I understand, just promise me you'll come back so we could continue our friendship," his steel-blue eyes were now a murky tone. His eyes glistened with water and that's when I felt him grab my hand, he held it tight.

"You bet I'm going to be back. You're my best friend," I glanced at Johnny who gazed at us with curiosity then he nodded.

"I'll give you two some privacy," he smirked and winked at me.

"You look better from the last time this happened," I know he was lying. I probably look even worst. "I remembered your parents let us camp outside in the backyard," he said but I also remember his mother yelling at him for fighting at school.

*SOPHOMORE YEAR*

Both our parents showed up at the same time. My mom examined my face and then kissed my cheek. My dad tapped me on the shoulder. He had a small grin on his face, a proud dad moment that I defended myself but I didn't. Zeus took most of the fighting. I just happened to jump on Ronan before he did more damage to him. "Sweetie does anything hurt?" my mom asked while tears formed in her eyes.
