I glared at her as I clenched my jaw. My hand trembled and blood boiled from what I just heard. So Zeus was probably telling me the truth. I'm probably more valuable than what she makes me believe.
I walked closer to her like a cheetah about to get his prey. She stood still has her eyes were filled with concern. She tried to move away from the sink but I trapped her in between my arms. "So I'm no good?" my words choked in my throat because she made me feel like I did in high school, insignificant. "All you care are my assets?" now my words were coming out more rough and harsh. Her eyes were now filled with fear.
"Cash, let me explain. You know how Zeus is. I had to tell him that....," I didn't let her finish.
"Shut up! I'm done listening to you! You will show me my sales for the albums I've released and I want every single report or else I'm going to take you to court," I pulled away and tried to calm down.
"Cash, you know you're good, sweetie," she came closer and tried to caress my arm. I yanked my arm and faced her again.
"I want to see those reports. I'm done with Olympus records. This is my resignation," I walked towards my room.
"You're nothing without Olympus. You think Zeus is going to take you into his arms and give you a good word at Empire Records, well think again. You're nothing!" she spit out venom but I didn't react.
"I want those sales or I'm taking you to court for manipulation of sales," thankfully my aunt and uncle were lawyers, they raised me after high school. I had a rough childhood with an abusive dad and unfortunately, my mom paid the price.
I packed the only suitcase I brought. Why the fuck did I come? I wasn't even going to perform at that stupid competition. It was another one of Kya's manipulation, 'just listen to how they perform and you'll get there' fucken meaningless words. I was probably always good but in my head, I wasn't at Zeus's level. I was never anyone in high school or life. I came to Olympus Records to grow and be famous but I'm just as useless as in high school.
I never cry, not after seeing my mother die in front of me and finding my best friend had overdosed. But right now I wanted to cry out of anger but I held those tears and swallowed them. I pulled my luggage as Kya was sitting on the couch. "You walk out that door and you can kiss your contract goodbye."
"Well, I guess I'll kiss it because I know I'm better than what you claimed I was. You're a lousy person with a fucked up heart. Zeus was never the enemy, you just told me that so I wouldn't get close to him," she had a malicious smirk on her as she clapped her hands.
"Bravo, bravo. Murdock Cash isn't as dumb as I thought. I don't need to show you any sales, you signed a contract and in that contract, it gave me half of your assets. Your resignation just voided everything so you're no longer part of Olympus Record so I suggest you leave or I'm calling security," she started dialing on her cellphone.
