Chapter 9: Thoughts

Korra got home in the Air Temple Island very late. And as usual, Tenzin scolded her. He even waited for the avatar to go home. Actually Korra didn't go home exactly when Asami left. She was still thinking if she was right that she lied to Asami. And of course, she's not. I was just scared that Asami would be mad. She told herself. She stayed in the park two hours just thinking of what she did. She don't even felt sleepyness. Naga found her. But when the polar bear dog noticed that something is bothering her owner, she sat beside the avatar and waited.

Korra got home around 3am in the morning. That's why Tenzin is mad but he's worried too. No one knows that the avatar was now in the city. Only the White Lotus and Tenzin's family knew it. The avatar didn't mind Tenzin's words as she enter the temple. She got straight to bed and burry her face in her pillow. Her conscience keeps on telling her that she's wrong not to tell the truth. But her heart says that's alright. She just want Asami to be her friend. Or more than that. Korra slapped her face. Thinking that she's crazy. Wanting Asami to date her? Impossible. But who knows? Maybe she felt the same way. She can feel it but she didn't want to assume. She's also an earthbender. She can feel Asami's heartbeat. Why am I thinking this? Am I inlove? Korra asked herself frustrated. She closed her eyes.

Then one thing reached her mind. You're marrying her, Korra. Great. There's another problem. Her parents—wanting her to marry a girl. She do have a choice. She will date Mako or she will marry that girl she never knew. But seriously, she didn't liked Mako. Not even once. Yes, he's handsome. But she never felt that she liked him. So she don't have no choice now. She'll have to marry that girl. Tears fell down on her cheeks. Why would she had a complicated life like this? Being the avatar, Arranged Marriage to a girl, and lied to someone she loved.
Wait, did I said I love her? Nah. I'm crazy. She thought. She doesn't even sure what Asami will react after she knew that she was a bender—not just any bender but the avatar too. She already knew that Asami would be angry because she lied and she didn't tell her the truth. But if she told her, she'll loose her and she can't deal with that. Tears are still falling down on her cheeks. Korra lay down on her bed and she closed her eyes. Hoping to sleep, hoping to escape from the  situation, and hoping that tomorrow she would woke up all normal again before she met Asami.
