Chapter 12: Encouraging

The next morning, the avatar is not sure if she really wants to confess to Asami. She's so confused right now. She got out of her room and went to the meditation hall. It's 5:30am and she thought that everybody's still sleeping. She just sat there and watched the sun. Then she looked at Republic City. Here again, the guilt and sadness she felt about the heiress. Why would she felt like this? Tears started to run again in her cheeks. And out of nowhere, Korra shouted. She can release all of her emotions and stress. She bowed her head and cried hard. By doing that, she felt better than before.

"Korra?" A sweet voice called the avatar's name. She immediately wipe out her tears before she face the person.

"A-Ah. Pema! Why?" Korra painted a fake smile on her face.

"Korra. What's wrong?" Pema walked towards her and held her hand.

"N-Nothing Pema."

"Come on Korra. You can't lie to me. Tell me, what's bothering you?" Pema said. Korra stared at her. She can see concern in Pema's eyes. The avatar bowed down. And cry again. Pema hugged her tight. Korra continued to cry in her chest. She needed it. She needed someone who can cry on and would listen to her sorrow.

"Shhh. Korra, it's okay. Tell me, what's wrong?"

"I-I don't know Pema. I just felt guilty, and sad." The avatar said between her sobs.

"Why? What's the matter?"

"You're right Pema. I-I'm inlove. With a g-girl. I know it's weird. I tried to fight it, but it's no use. And worst, the one I loved hated benders." Korra said that made her cried a lot.

"I see you loved Asami. Am I right Korra?" Pema said releasing the avatar from the hug.

"Y-Yes. I think so. I felt guilty when I didn't tell her the truth. W-Wait. You know her?" Korra asked with amazement.

"Of course. We all do. She's the CEO of Future Industries."

The avatar looked away. Pema can see the sorrow in her eyes. So she held both of the avatar's hand. And gave her the advice she needed.

"Korra. You can't fight the spirit of love. If it hits you, you can't control it. All you can do is to follow it. Follow your heart Korra. What does it wants? Ask yourself. What do you want? If you really love her, you'll accept the consequences. Don't be afraid Korra. You're the avatar. You can handle everything. Remember what I told you years ago? When Tenzin was with other woman, I pulled out all of my strength, and confessed to him what I felt. I knew that he loved me too. Try it Korra. What if Asami felt the same way to you? If you don't tell her, you may never know."

There was silence after that. Pema waited for the avatar to answer because it looked like she's thinking. Then Korra looked at Pema. And wore a smile. Not a fake smile but her sweetest smile.

"Thank you Pema. You're the best!" Then the avatar hugged her cheerfully.

"No problem Korra. Go ahead and tell her young avatar. Just tell me what happened okay?"

"I will! Thanks!" Then Korra ran away and called Naga. Pema just followed her in sight and released a deep sigh. Wearing a smile, she went inside and prepare breakfast for her family. While preparing, she can't resist the excitement she felt for Korra and Asami.

The avatar was on her way to the City. Can't wait to confess her feelings to the girl she loved. Finally, she got all the strength to tell Asami the feelings she fought for almost a week. Finally, her guilt will end. Finally, she can express her love.
