Chapter 65

The next morning you woke to find yourself on top of Draco. Harry and Hermione were outside gathering up everything for the move. "Time to get up" you said, shaking Draco's body. After a few minutes Draco was finally up and you helped to put away the tent back inside of Hermione's bag. "We're going on foot" said Hermione "let's hurry" said Harry.

You walked for hours through the forest until you finally made your way to a massive corn field. Ron wasn't looking in the best shape at all so Draco made him take off the locket and he put it on himself. After a while the effects started to show on Draco. "Hurry up y/n" snapped Draco "we need to keep moving" he continued "it's hot, and I'm tired" you said "for fucks sake" he sighed grabbing your hand and pulling you with him. "Let go" you snapped "Draco let go!" you shouted, pulling your arm away from him. "We need to hurry up so let's go" snarled Draco "can you just let me rest" you said "we can rest when we're somewhere safe" he replied.

"It's the locket" said Hermione "it's making him do that" she added "he only took it, cause Ron looked terrible" Harry said "but now it's making it worse for y/n" he continued. "Take it off" you said "take off the locket" you snapped, Draco reached in his shirt and threw off the locket onto the floor. You walked past him over to Hermione and Harry while Ron picked up the locket. He put it back on and continued the journey.

You managed to find a new place to set up camp next to a massive lake. Ron had fallen asleep on one of the beds while you and Draco sat at the table. Hermione was busy cutting Harry's hair while he stared out into the night. "I'm sorry" said Draco "for the things I said when I was wearing the locket" he added "I love you" he said connecting his lips with yours. "I love you Draco" you said pulling him into a hug. "Oh my god" gasped Hermione "what?" Harry asked, running his hands through his hair to see if he did something to it.

"The sword of Gryffindor" she said "it's goblin made" she added "brilliant, but what's that got to do with anything?" asked Harry "dirt and rust have no effect on the blade, it only takes in what makes it stronger" said Hermione. "That means the sword could destroy horcruxes" you said "how?" asked Harry "you destroyed Tom Riddle's diary in the chamber of secrets" said Hermione "with a basilisk fang" replied Harry "don't tell me you've got one of those in that bloody bag of yours" he said. "Yes, but in the chamber of secrets you stabbed the basilisk with the sword" said Hermione "the blade has basilisk venom in it" you said "yes! Exactly y/n" cheered Hermione.

"It only takes in what makes it stronger" said Harry "which is why it can destroy horcruxes" Harry added "you're brilliant Hermione" said Harry. "It must've been why Dumbledore left it to you in his will" said Hermione. Suddenly the lights turned off. "Lumos" you said illuminating the tip of your wand revealing Ron standing in the dark. "Ron, what are you doing?" you asked, shining the light in front of him. "Oh don't mind me" he said "but you four carry on with your fun" he snapped. "What's wrong?" Harry asked closing the book he was looking at "nothing, nothing wrong at all" Ron replied "well according to you that is".

"Just spit it out" you said, flicking your wand so the lights would turn back on. "Fine, but don't expect me to be grateful since there's another damn thing we need to find" snapped Ron "I thought you knew what you were getting into" said Harry "trust me, I thought I did too" replied Ron. "I'm sorry but I don't understand, what part of this isn't up to your expectations?" asked Harry "did you think we were going to find a new horcrux every other day?" asked Draco.

"You have no room to talk Malfoy" sneered Ron "don't you dare talk to him like that" you snapped. "Well what then, did you think you'd be back with your family for christmas" said Harry "I just thought that we would've actually accomplished something" said Ron angrily. "I thought you knew what you were doing, I thought Dumbledore would've told you something" Ron snapped "I told you everything that Dumbledore told me, and we already have a horcrux already" said Harry. "And we're as close to destroying it as we are to finding the others" snarled Ron.

"Ron please take- please take it off" pleaded Hermione reaching for the locket but Ron shoved her hands away, "you wouldn't be saying any of this if you weren't wearing it all day" she said. "Do ya wanna know why I listen to that radio every day?" said Ron "to make sure I don't hear anyone's name, the ones who I care about" he continued. "What? You think I'm not listening too" snapped Harry "ya think I don't know how it feels" he added "no! You don't know how it feels" yelled Ron. "your parents are dead!" shouted Ron "you have no family".

Harry lunged at Ron but Ron was able to push Harry off of him. "Both of you stop" pleaded Hermione "fine! Go!" shouted Harry "go for all I care" he yelled. Ron threw the locket off of his neck to the ground and grabbed his bag. "And you Hermione? Are you coming or are you staying?" he asked, "I-" she stuttered looking back and forth as tears formed in her eyes. "Fine. I get it" snapped Ron "and you two, it was always so bloody irritating with you" he snarled "you're in love with a death eater! Don't you see how terrible that is?" he snapped walking out of the tent.

Draco pulled you down next to him and wrapped his arms around you. "Ron" Hermione shouted chasing after Ron "Ron please wait" she yelled. "Ron!" "Ron!" she shouted. There was a crack and Ron was now gone. Hermione came back into the tent with tears falling down her face and went to lay down. Draco pulled up from the table and brought you to the other bed where he laid down next to you. "It's not terrible to love you" you said "don't believe anything he said" you added "I know. . .I'll always love you" said Draco pulling you closer to him.
