Chapter 79

 "You fuckers" sneered Draco as he and Ron chased after the three boys who ran back down the hallway. Harry started climbing one of the piles that the diadem got blasted on to. He threw chairs out of the way to make an easier climb. "Did you do it?" you asked "we did" Hermione replied "we did get soaked though" she chuckled earning a laugh from you. Harry had made it halfway up the pile when Hermione had started climbing up as well to help him. Pixies flew out of one of the holes and swarmed into the air, you flicked your wand sending out a gust of air that swept them away. "Got it!" said Harry as he held the diadem up in the air.

"GO!" shouted Draco as he and Ron ran back "RUN!". Harry and Hermione jumped down from the pile and stared out at where Draco and Ron had gone. When they got back Draco pulled your arm and ran, Ron pulled Hermione with him as well. "Crabe set the place on fire!" shouted Draco. Harry stood still as a creature made of fire made its way to him. Harry bolted down where you had gone, while another creature of fire blocked off the other way. You flicked your wand as blaze of fire came from the right, the fire was blocked for a few seconds by a shield as you ran through.

Harry collapsed some of the piles so that it would stop the fire while you ran forward with Draco. But it did not stop it, the fire exploded into the shape of a dragon as it soared over. Everything was set ablaze as the fiendfyre spread throughout the room. You continued to run through the pathways until the fires collided into one right behind you. You swirled your wand, creating a small shield from the fire. The fire broke through immediately and chased after you.

You were cornered into a small place as the fire came from all directions. "What do we do?" cried Ron "I- I dunno" said Harry. As the fire jumped towards you, you waved your wand sending a shield bubble all around you. Ron fell backwards as you placed the shield up and landed next to a bunch of brooms. "Brooms" he said, tossing one to Harry, you and Draco both grabbed one and climbed on. You pointed your wand at the shield and opened a small hole just big enough for you to escape without being burned.

Crabbe, Goyle, and Blaise were climbing up one of the massive piles as the fiendfyre continued to consume everything in its path. Crabbe grabbed onto his next step but it was an unbalanced chair. The chair let loose and dropped Crabbe into the fire as he let out a scream as the fire consumed him. Blaise and Goyle however did not shout for Crabbe but instead kept climbing to their safety.

"Come on, this way!" shouted Ron, you were flying next to Draco as Hermione and Ron tailed after Ron. "we can't leave them" said Draco "are you bloody mental" shouted Ron "they're my friends", "he's joking right?" Ron asked you. "I'm afraid not" you replied, Draco swerved back around and you followed. Draco tried reaching for Blaises hand but missed, Blaise almost lost his balance but managed to catch himself at the last second. Draco went back around once more and pulled Blaise onto his broom. Ron flew past Golye and swung him onto his broom as he followed after Draco.

You were flying past the piles of junk that were not set on fire, they tumbled to the ground as the fire spread to the tops. A wall of fire surrounded the exit of the room as the flames grew higher and higher. You pointed your wand at the wall of fire and parted the flames in an arc. You flex out of the massive door of the room of requirement but the momentum threw you off of your broom. You spun onto the floor as your broom smashed into a nearby wall. Draco and Blaise flew off of their broom as well, Draco immediately picked himself off of the floor and ran over to you.

"Harry!"shouted Hermione as she threw the basilisk fang to him, he caught it and brought it down on the diadem. When the fang hit the taira ink black smoke burst out of it and spiraled into the air. Harry stumbled back and fell back onto the wall behind him as Ron kicked the diadem back into the flames of the room of requirement. The flames erupted into the face of Voldemort and hurtled at you, but the doors swung shut and soon disappeared.

"Are you alright?" asked Draco as he pulled you closer to him "I'm fine" you panted, "are you sure?" he asked again "I'm okay, promise". "Harry, you need to look inside of him," said Ron "find him, if we do we find the snake" he added "we can end this". "Why can't y/n do that?" said Harry "I'm not connected to him" you replied "only you can look inside him". Harry shut his eyes and his breath became slower, his face grew pale as his body twitched.

"Is he doing it?" asked Ron "I think so" you said getting up from the ground as Draco followed. "I know where he is" gasped Harry as he opened his eyes. "Then lets go". Harry jumped off the ground and bolted down the hallway back to the main staircase as you all followed. When you reached the main staircase everything was in ruin, death eaters everywhere, the walls crumbled to nothing. You flicked your wand, exploding a wall to nothing as two death eaters flew at you. Harry, Ron, and Hermione all threw curses at the death eaters down the stairs as you and Draco kept your watch on the sides and back.

When you reached the exit of the castle, Harry held back Hermione from an incoming curse and hid behind the door. Harry peered around the corner and threw a curse at the death eater. You ran into the courtyard as trolls and death eaters battled the students. A massive troll ran at you, you managed to hide behind a giant bell that had fallen from its place. The troll hit the bell with a quidditch hoop, but nearly missed your heads.

Harry ran but was stopped as a horde of spiders found their way through the ruble. You waved your wand, sending a searing burst of light that caused them to halter. Hermione bolted off int the other direction and ran through the trolls legs, Draco pulled you with him as he ran through the battlefield. You reflected in incoming curse into a death eater who fell to the ground. You ran into one of the nearby corridors that was blown to bits, to find Lavender brown dead and lifeless as a werewolf tore through her body. "NO!" shouted Hermione as she blew the werewolf through the wall.

The troll from before was still trying to kill you with his giant stick, he stuck it between the holes in the wall as you ran through trying to get to the other side. "Confringo" you said waving your wand, a blast of fire hit the wall and exploded the troll backwards as the flames engulfed the path behind. Harry ran through an opening in the wall and you followed after him. You reached the main bridge of the castle that led to the forest, a swarm of dementors clawed their way through the air. Behind you, Aberforth casted a patronus big enough to block and blast away all the incoming dementors.
