Poking her head around the wall with a thoughtful expression, Sierra squints at the man peacefully enjoying his alone time. Until her voice breaks the silence and she can revel in the way his mood changes.

"I need your help."

Grayson audibly hums. "No."

Regardless, she walks in and plops herself on the edge of his bed with a slight bounce. The man sighs loudly as she continues to stare, knowing it'll get on his nerves.

"I need your help."

He snaps his book shut, exasperated by her incessant talking. "You have thirty seconds and then I want you out of my room."

"It's Kaden's birthday in a couple days."

"It's also mine."

"Yeah but we're not together so it doesn't count."

"Could at least get me someone to kill."

"I'll think about it. Seriously, help me. He always makes an effort for me, I'm running out of ideas. I'm easyー don't take that out of context. I meant I'm easy to please. Oh my god." She furrows her brows and rubs her forehead in shame.

"Nice to know." He bends a leg and drapes his arm over his knee.

"The smirk isn't necessary. Just help me. I need ideas. You know him better than anyone, even me, which I admit with great reluctance. Come on, I can't fill the house with balloons and flowers like he does for me."

"You could." She grunts sarcastically and fumbles with her rings. "He already has everything he could ever want. He has a home and a family, he doesn't need anything else. He's happy, I can see it."

"I still want to give him something. He deserves it for everything he's done."

"We're the same person, neither of us want anything because there's nothing we need."

"That's a lie. You constantly want someone to kill."

"Well, yeah, but that's just me."

She twists her mouth defeatedly. "Great."

"When we were young we wanted all of the toys we could get our hands on. When we were a little older we wanted cars, even if we couldn't drive them yet. Then we became who we are today. I'm serious, he has everything. As long as he has you by his side he'll be just fine."

"No offence but you're no help at all."

"Good." He picks up his book and picks up where he left off.

"You're on Hope's side aren't you? She's been locked in her room all day making God knows what for him. You're helping her."

"You don't stand a chance." He turns a page and she purses her lips.

Casually strolling past the gym and retracing her steps, Sierra sidles up beside the shirtless man on the treadmill with a wide smile. He takes one look and sighs to himself.
