Scorching heat crawls over shiny skin, thick smoke carried by the warm breeze. Ashes and debris swirl through the air and scatter across the ground. Petrified screams and blasts merging together in the distance.
Sierra stands in the centre of the desolated street, a beacon of strange serenity wrapped up in the violence. Not a flame, blade or bullet dares to touch her while she relishes in the destruction.
She tips her head back, a hint of a smile appearing.

Grayson traces a fingertip over one of his thick silver rings. A couple hours ago Kaden fell asleep again and he's refused to leave his bedside since.
Men gathering in the corridor catches his cold eyes. They narrow on their lips as they converse with one another.
"Road blocks are holding," James informs.
"Unit on the south side just requested backup," Damian reveals.
"They're attacking from all sides." Harvey shakes his head.
"If this gets worse we may have to evacuate," Heath warns.
"Not an option," Zephyr cuts in.
"We might not have a choice."
"Boss said no."
Sylvan marches over to the group. "Yo, we got movement a mile out."
"Let's move."
Hope frowns when her uncle suddenly stands from his chair and hurriedly exits the room, his silhouette vanishing from her line of sight. By the time he arrives outside three trucks are pulling up and men are filing out.
Sierra leaps from the back of one dressed in combat attire, nearly identical to their men's uniforms. Dried blood is splattered across her skin with streaks of dirt and dust.
Grayson freezes as soon as he sees her.
Not only is she delivering commands to the surrounding men with ease, she's marching around as if she's bulletproof. Bloody, filled with rage, hardened by the war she created.
He can't stop himself from gawking. Years ago she barely survived a knife to the gut, now she's withstanding a war. His pupils expand until his eyes are pure black.
"Boss," Hades calls out as he runs to her. She turns her head to listen, nodding to what he murmurs close to her ear. After receiving his orders he jogs away.
She pats Riggs on the shoulder and the seven foot man becomes locked onto her six as she strides away. An earpiece is hooked over her ear so she can deliver instructions with ease.
"Hey man you good?" Atlas appears seemingly from nowhere, hovering by his side while he reloads his gun.
"Yeaー yep." Grayson clears his throat. When did it dry up?

Kaden draws in a deep breath as he stirs, blinking away the fatigue from his heavy eyes. It's a delightful surprise to find Sierra at the foot of his bed peering through the window.
