Happy shrieks fill the house once the door is opened. Sierra breaks into a beaming grin, reaching out. "Look who it is!" She scoops up the ecstatic dog when he bounces over the threshold, giggling because he squirms excitedly in her arms.

"Is that my son?" Hope yells from the staircase.

"It is." Sierra peppers kisses over his head. "My sweet boy. How did we ever cope without you?"

"He's missed you guys," Eiza tells.

"Thank you for taking care of him."

"No problem. We've had so much fun haven't we." She ruffles his soft fur. "Rosa used you as an excuse to invite Hope over didn't she? Yes she did. Even though we've told her she's family."

"Mom." Rosa's face wrinkles. Hope takes her hand and squeezes it softly.

"How's he been?" Diego asks.

"Considering who he is and what he's been through, I'd say he's been fine. He'll be happier once he's healed."

"Grayson? Happy?"

"Slightly less grumpy," Sierra corrects. "Woah. Bunny." She chuckles, lowering the barking dog before he leaps from her arms. He bounds across the house to weave between Kaden's legs, yapping loudly and circling Grayson.

"I haven't missed you," the latter mumbles.

"There he is." Diego's smile is pearly.

"Been a while," he jokes, slowly lowering to sit the couch. A nod to his brother who takes a step back and folds his arms over his chest.

After two attempts Bunny manages to jump up onto the sofa, dashing across the cushions with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. Sierra quickly scoops him up before he can launch himself at Grayson's healing stomach.

"Calm down," she whispers, rocking him back and forth. He whines and reluctantly slumps.

"How you doing brother?" Diego sits beside him, elbows on his thighs.

"Same old."

"I wanted to come see you but my baby girl told me to wait. As soon as I heard the news I was out the door."

"Didn't even have shoes on," Eiza adds.

"Didn't have a car either. It was getting fixed. I was ready to run the entire way to the hospital. It's probably best Rosa talked me out of it."

"You think?" She arches her brow.

"I was worried about you man."

"You don't need to worry now. I'm all good."

"Can't wait to see the scar." He rubs his hands together. "Something tells me this one is gonna be cool."

"Don't encourage him, he keeps trying to remove the dressing to see it." Sierra's input is met with a fond smile from her man.

"Let's not take it off yet," Eiza advises strongly.

"Listen man, I just want you to know, if your ass ever lands back in hospital I will be there."
