As soon as Hope sets foot through the door she drops her pink duffel bag. "I'm home! Did you guys miss mーoh my god!" she shrieks, covering her eyes whilst frantically turning on her heels. "What the hell?!"

"Hope!" Sierra hastily covers herself with the nearest item; a blanket draped over the back of the couch.

Grayson calmly sits up and rests his arm over the back of the sofa, the picture of serenity. He acknowledges Hope with an unbothered glance.

"You're home early." Sierra feels her face heat up like a furnace.

"Yep." Hope refuses to turn around. "I texted but you didn't answer."

"Oh," she murmurs, glimpsing the overturned device on the coffee table. It's been on silent since last night. "Sorry honey, I've been busy." She sweeps her hair away from her face, tightening her grip on the blanket.

"I can see that."

"No! Not this. I meant withー never mind."

"On the sofa? Really?" Hope sounds pained.

"In our defence you weren't supposed to be home yet," Grayson says coolly.

"I was gone for a week. You had a week to do this."

"We did," he answers shamelessly.

"Did you have a good time?" Sierra offers a smile, not that Hope can see it.

"I'm not doing this while you're both half dressed."

"Great, can you leave."

"Grayson," Sierra scolds.

"Trust me I don't want to stay any longer. I just wanted to drop my things off. My friends are having a party."

"You don't have to leave. You just got back." Her mother's forehead wrinkles.

"I want to. I'll sort my bags later after I've bleached my eyes like a hundred times." Hope slams the door, shuddering as she returns to her car.

"I blame you."

"Why?" Grayson steals her frown.

"Impatient. Couldn't wait."

"I remember you not wanting to wait either."

"Shut up." Her cheeks flush a deeper shade of pink. She yelps when a strong hand wraps around her arm to pull her closer. It's a wonder how the blanket is still shielding her.

"I'm not finished."

"I am. Hope just walked in on us because you couldn't wait. I s-said..." she loses her breath when hands slide higher up her thighs. A small huff escapes her at the sight of his smirk. "I said we should wait."

It's a lost battle. Her immunity to his sharp eyes has dissolved and left her vulnerable. Every thought melts from her mind, each drop of hesitation fizzles. Hard to say no to him looking like that.
