Brows furrowed, the man mutters to himself as he flicks through the old numbers on the burner phone. With a grunt he throws it at the wall just as Sierra steps out. She ducks under the flying object before it lands in pieces by her feet, sending Grayson a displeased look.
"Where the hell did you come from?" His anger dissipates and confusion rushes to take its place.
"Down there." She points over her shoulder at the corridor she'd strolled down. He glimpses the area she's pointing to with a blank expression taking hold of his face.
"I knew that."
"Been here all day," she states clearly. He's frowning now. "Did you think you were home alone this whole time?"
"...No."
"You didn't realise I was here? We had an entire conversation earlier. We talked for like twenty minutes."
"Yeah." He shrugs casually.
"You have no recollection of that do you?"
"I remember everything."
"Okay then what did we discuss?"
A pensive expression captures his face. Mouth hung open while he ponders, eyes squinting and searching the space around her as if it'll provide answers. Then a defeated exhale is pushed past his lips as he struggles to form even a lie.
"Okay." She drops her hands from her hips and walks away from the bewildered manー who is still frowning because he can't for the life of him figure out what they conversed about.

"What's all this?" Sierra peruses the various packages gathered together upon the coffee table. Some smaller than others, some larger. Just from a glance she recognises some of the brand names and logos of her favourite stores.
"For you," Kaden answers simply.
"Me?" She sets Bunny down to peek into one of them, feeling the dog nuzzle his head against her legs. A jovial sound comes to life as she holds up the sequin dress, turning with it against her front. "I've been looking at this for so long."
He smiles while she kneels beside the table, rummaging through the next box. The clothes inside are neatly packaged and include a written card from the store owner. She sits back on her heels, running her hand through Bunny's fur since he's decided to rest close to her.
"These are the things I was looking at last night." She spent most of her time scrolling on various websites doing some window shopping.
"Yeah."
"Honey do you... Do you wanna explain?" she prompts softly.
"You left your laptop open. I saw them so I bought them." He explains so nonchalantly like he hasn't just spent hundreds- no, thousands on her. There's love brimming in her eyes while he talks. "Did you not want them?"
She shakes her head to wipe away any hint of worry he might be feeling. Rising to her tiptoes to wrap her arms around his neck, planting a kiss there. He's more than happy to embrace her, habitually inhaling her perfume.
