Wearing one of Kaden's shirts after her boiling shower, Sierra takes a calm stroll towards the vanity when the sight before her has her shrieking and jumping into the air.

"Kaden. Kaden!"

"What?" He materialises within seconds. "What is it?" She shakily points and he steps into the room to glance at the floor. "Seriously?"

"Please get rid of it." She backs away whilst pushing him forwards.

"I thought you were dying." He crouches to scoop up the spider. "You always scream like you're about to get murdered."

The woman suppresses a gag when it crawls around in his hand. She shudders and climbs down from the bed, keeping her distance as he heads downstairs.

"Been stabbed, shot, attacked and this is what terrifies you most? I may never understand you." He places it outside and locks the patio door again.

"I'm gonna be honest," Grayson interrupts. "I heard you screaming and you being in danger wasn't the first thing to cross my mind."

"Wonderful news." She folds her arms. "I actually was in danger, not that you care."

"I don't. There's an image in my head that's far more interesting."

"It was a spider, you weren't in danger."

Sierra takes his hand and places it on her chest. "Tell that to my racing heart." He restrains his laughter once he feels her rapid pulse.

"I'll tell it." Grayson comes closer. Smirk growing when his hand is slapped away by the grimacing blonde.

"It's not funny. That thing could've killed me." She walks away with a huff. Grayson sends his brother a puzzled look and Kaden simply shakes his head, shrugging it off.

"Don't question it."

Exiting the store empty handed, Sierra stops in her tracks when a taller figure occupies the space beside her. Though the hand on her elbow urges her to continue walking. A glance at his face and she refrains from objecting, pushing her legs to match his pace.

"Keep your head down, move quickly."

"Xavier?"

"Rogue sent me to follow a lead. Keep walking, you're being followed."

"By who?" She feels her heart skip a beat.

"Someone who isn't afraid to make a scene in public."

It's difficult to not look over her shoulder. He does however. Calloused hand grasping her bicep to pull her aside when the man tailing them raises his gun towards the sky and pulls the trigger. The crowds instinctively duck and scream as they flee the street.

"This way." Xavier nods and they run through the panicked groups, crossing the road to take cover in an alleyway a few streets away. Motioning for her to remain silent, he scans the area.

She lets out a desperate yelp when the same figure appears at the opposite end of the alley, gun raised. Xavier shoves her out of the way, hearing the bullet scrape the wall behind him. Firing his gun three times, the attacker dips behind the wall for cover.
