Glimpsing the expensive watch wrapped around his wrist, Kaden cocks a brow. The man stood with the gun pointed at him almost smirks.

"You on a tight schedule?" he quips.

"You could say that," he replies in an equally sardonic tone. "Had a long day. I wanna go home, see my girl, you know how that feels."

He glances at the men stuffing the money into the bags and loading them into the back of his car. "Hurry the fuck up!" He claps his hands and their movements speed up.

"That's more like it."

Dropping the bag by her bed, Hope picks up her ringing phone to answer the call from the unknown number. Not thinking much of it until an unfamiliar gruff voice finds her ear.

"If you and your family wish to stay alive, come alone to the van parked outside your house. You have sixty seconds or we blow the place up."

Hearing the line fall silent, she stuffs the phone into her pocket and hurries downstairs. Her mother greets her with a dimpled smile.

"Hey honey, I was wondering ifー"

"Can't talk sorry, I have a thing with Rachel I forgot about." The door closes behind her and she rushes across the driveway, glancing back at her home on the way through the gate.

Sierra frowns at Grayson. "Was that strange for her?"

"Hard to tell."

"I was like that as a teenager, can't fault her for being secretive I suppose."

"Could be meeting with that boy," he surmises.

"She'd tell me." Sierra waves a hand through the air to brush the notion away. He squints. "Wouldn't she?"

Hope gulps when the door is opened and the men grin. Hesitantly she climbs in and takes a seat between them, shoulders wedged between their larger ones.

"Good girl," the driver rasps and pulls away from the house.

Returning later into the evening, Kaden abandons a bag of weapons by the vanity table and locates Sierra in the en-suite. She offers a smile to him in the mirror when his arms wrap around her from behind.

"Have a good day?" He groans deeply against her neck. "Missed me too much, huh?" she jokes lightly but he nods against her shoulder. "Well you're home now." She places the glass bottle of perfume by the sink and turns in his embrace.

Without warning he scoops her up, carrying her into the bedroom and placing her gently on the bed, arms winding around her once he's laid across the mattress. He's all too happy to tangle their legs and relax until most of his weight is on her. She chuckles into his chest, kissing his jaw.

"I guess we can lay here for a little while."

"Mhm." He lets his eyes flutter.

She nestles her head beneath his chin and comfortably drapes a leg over his waist. From the sound of his slow breaths she presumes he's already asleep. He never could resist once her fingers glide through his hair.
