"What the hell are you doing?"

If JJ's tone weren't full of amusement, I'd fear for my life right now. I stop mid-sit on the couch, letting go of Maggie's harness to rest my hand on the arm cushion so I can get my bearings.

"We're going to ring Mum. I thought the couch would be more comfortable for you."

"Yes, and I appreciate that, but you're in just a towel."

"This isn't meant to sound rude, but . . . so?"

She makes a disapproving sound, "You can't talk to your mum wearing only a towel. That's not . . . I mean that's just not right."

"And why is that, love?" I playfully challenge, letting gravity take over and I sit on the couch with a huffed breath. "We're not going to video chat with her. She won't be able to see me."

"Well, I-"

"Are you going to tell her I'm naked under this towel?" I ask, fitting the ends of the towel together over my lap.

"Well, no, but-"

"Then it should be alright, shouldn't it?" I smirk up at her and she sighs heavily. "Then it's settled. Come sit next to me, love. I'm cold."

"Gee, I wonder why, Mr. Wearing Only A Towel."

Grinning at her joke, I welcome her with my outstretched arm and I sense her presence close in front of me. Her hand cups my cheek and I feel her lips on my forehead.

"Mm, that was an unexpected gesture. I like it. Sit next to me, love. Please?"

"I will, but I have to use the toilet first. I'll be right back."

"Okay. Maggie and I will wait for you right here."

"Perfect."

The sound of her quickly shuffling footsteps walking away lets me know she really needs to wee. The thought makes me grin and I reach over next to me to feel for my cell phone that I put on the side table earlier. A high-pitched sound makes me smile and I hold my hand out for Maggie. Her wet nose touches my fingers and I pet her head, giving her ears a few good scratches.

"Does that feel good, hm? Yeah, I know. You can go in your bed if you'd like." She answers me with a huffed breath and the sound of her licking her lips makes me grin. "Oh, you'd like to talk with Gramma? Okay. I think she'll like that."

"Oof, I feel much better," JJ says and I lean back into the couch.

"I'm glad. There's nothing worse than having to hold your wee."

"Completely agree. My belly is full and my bladder is empty. For now, at least."

"We can have a snack after the phone call, if you'd like."

"You're always so thoughtful."

"I try. C'mere, love," I plead with an outstretched arm and I feel the cushion dip down on my right. Once she's settled next to me, I cover her shoulder with my hand. "You know I love you, JJ, right?"

"Yeah, I guess I do," she replies and I gasp in surprise.

"You guess? You guess? Well damn, I'm not doing my job as a proper husband because you should absolutely know I love you."

"Aw, I do know it, Harry," she coos and I feel the warmth of her hand on my cheek that takes me by surprise. "Sorry. I should've told you."

"It's okay. I quite enjoy being surprised by you."

She hums cutely, moving away from my embrace and she sighs. "Okay. Ready to call your mum?"

"Yes. Have my phone right here. Do you want me to tell her?"
