With the last bit of sunscreen blended into my skin, I replace the cap and put the bottle in my beach bag so I can reapply later. If I'm not careful, I'll be as red as a lobster by the end of our special pool party.

Since my dad and Anne are the only ones who know about the pregnancy, this get-together is going to be quite a shocker. Hell, it was a shock to me, but every day since we've found out, I've gotten used to the fact that I'm going to be a mum and I'm becoming more excited.

The alarm on my phone goes off and I hurriedly wash my hands. I grab the small towel off the hook to dry my hands before tapping on my phone's screen to stop the chimes. I check my reflection in the mirror one last time, admiring my swimsuit and cute floral coverup and how my hair is practically glowing itself.

After researching and experiencing all the benefits that my prenatal vitamins have not only for the babies but for my hair, skin and nails, I find those humongous pills easier to swallow. Nodding in satisfaction, I grab the beach bag and my phone from the counter and make my way out of the loo.

"Harry, love, everyone should be arriving soon. Are you ready to walk over to the pool?" I call out as I walk into the living room.

"Yeah, m'ready," he replies, standing from the sofa. "Did you get Maggie's floaties, or do you want me to get them?"

"No need. I've got her floaties and swim hat so she won't burn. They're in the bag."

"You're such a good dog mum, and you're going to be an even better mum to our twins. In fact, you'll be the world's best mum."

His sweet words make me smile, "Thank you, love. Alright, if you carry the beach bag, I'll carry the food tote. I want to get there so no one has to wait to get in the gate. You ready?"

"Of course. I'm ready if you are," he grins, putting on his sunnies and I take a few seconds to admire him. He's dressed in a pair of swim trunks, a t-shirt and flip flops and he just looks adorable for some reason. "You're staring at me."

"Damn you and your heightened senses," I tease, fitting the food tote's strap over my shoulder and I guide his hand to my elbow. "I've got the keys. Ready to go for a walk, Maggie?"

She barks in answer, making Harry and I smile and we step outside. After I make sure the door to our flat is locked, I start guiding us down the walkway.

"Are you feeling any better from this morning?" he asks and I assume he's referring to when I woke up feeling sick.

"Yeah, I am. Thanks for asking. I just hope this morning sickness goes away soon. I've read it can vary from woman to woman on how long the nausea lasts."

"Yeah? What are the variations?"

"Oh, well, for some, it's just within the first trimester, but for others, it could last all throughout the pregnancy. I've got my fingers crossed for the first one."
