Pine-Tree awoke to loud screaming coming from the other room. He looked to the side and Ensley was looking through his closet, likely getting something out for him.

"H-Hi Ensley. I don't think I'll get used to waking up to you."

The fairy laughed. "Well, I always try to be in and out before you wake up, guess sometimes I'm just too slow! So how did you sleep?" She asked, putting a white dress shirt with a blue sweater vest and matching pants on his bed.

"I slept fine, I guess- but I woke up to some screaming, did I imagine that?"

Right on cue a muffled scream filled the room. Making them both flinch.

"I guess not-" Pine-Tree said. "What even is that?"

Ensley shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. I think the king might be torturing a human. I only caught a glimpse when I passed the throne room. You can change into that, I'll be waiting in the hall."

Pine-Tree nodded and she left the room. The boy put on his clothes, trying to ignore the screams echoing through the halls, a very difficult task. He couldn't ignore it.

After he finished getting dressed he left his room where Ensley was waiting for him in the hall. Before she could even speak, Pine-Tree was asking questions. "Do you know who that is screaming? Why is he screaming? Why is he here? How did he get here?" He questioned.

The fairy took a step back, "I wish I could answer your questions but I can't. I'm just as in the dark as you are."

Another scream roared through the hallway followed.

"I want to find out what's going on." Pine-Tree said as he started to move forward. Only to be grabbed by the arm by the lady behind him, but he kept going forward dragging her along with him.

"I- I don't think that's a good idea." Ensley protested as they came up to the throne room, more screams being heard along with laughter after it. "Maybe we should wait until they're finis-"

Her and Pine-Tree both looked into the large throne room where there was a man in the middle, chained up with all the demons surrounding him, Bill was torturing him while everyone else watched and laughed.

Ensley and Pine-Tree looked at each other, Ensley had a face of fear while Pine-Tree had a face of shock.

Of course- seeing Bill Cipher torturing someone was a regular occurrence in the Nightmare Realm, but it was always people just sneaking into the dimension and getting punished for it. Pine-Tree was confused, if anything he, Bill and everyone else came into their dimension without asking. So why is this man being put through so much pain without reason?

Hearing the man's scream more and more started to frighten him. Was Bill mad and taking his anger out or something?

The boy grabbed onto Ensley as she did the same to him. That is until a few seconds later when Bill noticed them.

"Well if it isn't Pine-Tree! See? You woke up my sapling as well. How rude!"

Ford looked over and saw the two, he was mainly focused on the young human boy, but that didn't last long until Bill spoke again.

"I'd say that deserves another 500 volts." Bill said before striking him again with electricity, his screams roaring down the halls once more.

Pine-Tree and Ensley just stayed still, trying to comfort each other. Pine-Tree was still a child, and- in demon years- Ensley was too. Bill knew they were standing there and knew they were both horrified by what he was doing, but he didn't care. He needed that equation.

"Ready to talk now?" Bill asked.

"No! I won't. I won't let you into my mind!" Ford exclaimed. Bill just sighed and rolled his eye on annoyance. "You know- I don't know why you're being so uncooperative. All I'm asking you to do is give me the equation to let myself and Pine-Tree out of this pathetic town."

Ford was breathing heavily, trying to catch his breath. "What- what did you do to that child?" He asked, his throat raspy from all the screaming.

Bill rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed, ignored his question and kept going. By this time, Ensley saw tears start forming in Pine-Tree's eyes and pulled him away back into the hall. Without a word she pulled him as far in the Fearamid as she could to where the screams were muffled to nothing but a whisper.

Pine-Tree fell to his knees. He didn't know why he felt so distraught seeing such a sight? Was it because Bill didn't have a reason to torture that poor man? Was it because that was a human who looked like him? He didn't know, he really didn't know.

Ensley sat next to him, rubbing circles in his back. "I'm disturbed too, Pine-Tree."

The boy looked at her, the lights showing off his tear-stained cheeks. "Why does he do that?"

The fairy wanted to answer, but again couldn't. "I don't know- Bill is Bill. He's unpredictable, he's weird, he's mean, he's ruthless really. I've seen things like this happen for almost all my life and- I'll never get used to it." She said, Pine-Tree hugged his knees to his chest as she put her arm around him in a comforting manner.

He wanted to say something to her but didn't know what. He opened his mouth to speak many times, just to sigh and close it. All Ensley could do was give him comfort.

Ensley was able to feel human emotions but not to the extent of actual humans. From the few days of them all being here, she's seen how humans can just shut down when they're emotions take over. It was interesting but also a little bit sad for her. She didn't want to see Pine-Tree shut down like that.

The boy ended up crying himself to sleep in Ensley's arms, not knowing how to help him, she slowly and carefully set him down and flew off to the throne room, luckily the screams had subsided for now and the man Bill was torturing was a golden statue.

She looked towards the dream demon who seemed to be very annoyed and possibly quite angered. Her instincts told her to fly away from him when he was like this, but she couldn't. She knew he could help Pine-Tree feel better, so she gulped down her better judgment and went right up to him.

"You again... WHAT?!" He pretty much yelled at her. He didn't get the equation after all of that and he. was. PISSED.

She flinched at his harsh tone but semi-successfully tried to keep control of her fear. "P-Pine-Tree cried himself to sleep... he was v-very frightened by what he saw and I-I was thinking maybe you could h-help him?"

Bill's expression seemed to have softened at that request. He sighed, rubbing his eye. "Bring me to him."
