All the demons in the room stared at Ensley with expressions of utter shock and horror.
This tiny, young, overall quiet little fairy just raised her voice at and scolded Bill Cipher! BILL CIPHER! The most feared demon in the entire multiverse, but what was most surprising is the fact that, for the time being, she got away with it!!
Bill had disappeared without so much as a word to her, but he will no doubt gladly hand her a punishment later, but right now that's not the point.

Pine-Tree's head was lying on his desk, he didn't know where Ensley had gone or if she was coming back, but he didn't entirely care. Maybe she hated him too now... Seems like everybody does nowadays. He made a mistake - he trusted a mortal and now he's not with them, Bill doesn't like him anymore, he pushed Ensley away, and now he's completely alone...
The only question in his mind is how could he be so stupid? How dare he not trust Bill. How dare he trust a human over Bill? How could he do such a thing!?
He started banging his head on his desk again. He didn't even care to notice what he was doing to himself. He deserved the punishment. Bill will never trust him again. The thought of knowing that was painful to his mind, heart, and soul. It felt as though a knife had just been jabbed through his heart.
There is nothing in this world that can take away such pain...
"Pine-Tree." An echoey voice came from next to him, he turned his head and there was Bill floating next to him. An overwhelming feeling of guilt, sadness, and shame washed over him upon seeing the demon who was probably there to scold him or punish him again. The boy turned his head back to the other side and resumed hitting his head on his desk. That is until Bill grabbed his hair, stopping him. Pine-Tree's heart stopped at the feeling...
oh boy here it comes...
"Pine-Tree, care to tell me what's on your mind?" The demon asked, not really asking a question but telling him to do something in the form of a question. The boy knew this wasn't a question, he didn't like it though. He didn't want to face his shame or talk about it. Bill was probably just going to confirm all of his shame and make him feel worse anyway. You know what- if he does make the kid feel worse, good! He deserves all the pain in the world for what he's done. He did all of this to himself.
"I-I'm sorry... I'm just a-ashamed of m-myself... I-I'm sorry... I s-should have listened t-to you. I s-shouldn't have ignored y-your warnings. I'm s-sorry... I n-never should have s-spoken to mortals. And n-now I h-have thought of h-hurting someone e-else and I d-don't like it a-a-and..." Pine-Tree's eyes starting filling with tears as he put his head down to hide them. "I-I'm s-sorry..." he mumbled, still not looking up.
"Now, Pine-Tree I am not in the slightest bit happy about you even considering trusting them. I've taught you better. It's infuriating how they had to kidnap you and manipulate you to make you listen. EVEN THEN you still didn't get the message until that pathetic fairy came along." Bill scolded him, his voice sounding stern and intimidating.
"I'm sor-" Pine-Tree started before being cut off by the demon.
"Cut the sorry, kid. I didn't come in here just to yell at you, though after what you did I can do that all day." Bill said, making the boy feel worse, which amused him. "But that's not the only reason I'm here. That dumb fairy told me what you told her."
Pine-Tree felt a little embarrassed and a bit upset that Ensley would do that- but of course, his anger for her didn't last long, how could it?
"So you want revenge don't you?" Bill said, pulling him out of his own mind. Pine-Tree looked up with a surprised expression on his face from the bluntness of the question.
The demon crossed his arms, obviously getting impatient. He didn't want his time wasted by this kid. The boy took the hint and nodded his head, giving his answer. Though, he wasn't sure if that was what he really wanted or if he just nodded to make Bill happy. Either way, how was Bill going to react to this?
"I can help you with that."
Pine-Tree's eyes went wide. "Y-You're going to h-help me?? W-Why?"
Bill rolled his eyes. "I'm offering you help, do you want it or not? I don't have all day." He said, annoyed.
Pine-Tree nodded his head fast, jumping out of his seat, he was happy Bill wasn't mad at him. Though the demon still doesn't seem happy with him, he still isn't forgiving him. Even though getting revenge isn't exactly what Pine-Tree wants, perhaps this can be a way to get Bill to forgive him, pull this off and maybe it will happen.
"Good, come on. We start now." Bill said, flying out of the room.
"T-The sooner the b-better I guess." The boy said to himself, getting up and following the demon into a large and empty room in the Fearamid. When they entered Bill immediately turned around to face the kid behind him, looking him straight in the eyes.
"I'll show you how to do something once, I'll help you if you mess up twice, but the third and every other time you're on your own, understand?" He said bluntly.
"Okay." Pine-Tree responded, gently tapping his knuckles together nervously.
~3 hours later~
"Good. Do it again." Bill said, making five more heavy wooden statues appear all at different distances from him, stepping to the side to watch Pine-Tree perform the new spell he has been taught.
He does so almost perfectly, throwing fireballs from his hands and hitting all five statues, only missing twice.
"That was okay, not good but okay. Now let's try something else." Bill said sternly, making more statues appear, but this time he was making them move around instead of staying stationary. It made his heart pound, he didn't want to mess up again. He paid close attention to where they were going as he started trying to hit them, missing the majority of the time.
As much as he focused he couldn't seem to hit them. It took him a hot minute to actually hit them all. Since it was his first time hitting moving targets, Bill couldn't blame him for missing so many times.
"That was terrible. You missed 24 times, kid." Bill said, unamused. Pine-Tree put his head down and rubbed his arm. "I-I tried..."
"I know you tried! You didn't know what you were doing though. You tried to hit them where they were, you can't do that because they are just going to move away." Bill explained, demonstrating what the boy just did, the demon missed as well. "You can't do that. You need to predict where they are going to move and shoot right in front of them so they walk into the fireball, understand?" He said, demonstrating again, using his own tactic and hitting the statue, watching as it erupted into flames and burned to ash within a matter of seconds.
Pine-Tree nodding, showing he understood, Bill moved to the side and let the kid try again. This time he hit all of them, only missing once when he first started. The demon was actually quite pleased that Pine-Tree listened to him.
"Good job. Next time don't miss a single time." Bill said, a little softer than before, still sounding intimidating though. The boy nodded and tried again, not missing. He was proud of himself, and a certain fairy who was watching from behind a corner was proud of him too.
Throughout the next 5 hours, Bill taught Pine-Tree a variety of magic that even the kid hadn't even seen or knew existed before.
With lots of scolding for mistakes and praise for things done correctly, the two worked on each spell over and over until Pine-Tree got it down to Bill's satisfaction. Which didn't exactly come easy. The demon was only satisfied when he did everything perfectly and he mastered it. Pine-Tree wasn't the biggest fan of having to constantly do things over and over, being scolded for even the tiniest slip-up such as missing a target, hitting the wrong spot, incorrect footwork, and even blinking while casting a spell, the boy trusted the process, believing Bill was just doing what he thought was best.
And Pine-Tree has very well learned his lesson about not trusting Bill. That's for sure.
They both knew that for a fact.
