"I'll erase your memory."

Noticing how the kid was getting a bit frightened, Pyronica tightened her hold on him in order to provide him with comfort and assurance that she was there and would always be there.

Ensley flew to Pyronica's side, putting her hand on Pine-Tree's to send the same message.

The boy looked towards Bill with eyes filled with fear. Even though he knows this has happened before, he is still frightened by the thought because now- unlike the other times- he knew what was about to happen.

Ensley turned his head towards herself and Pyronica. "Here, don't look." She said softly, smiling at him.

He seemed to relax a bit and then his face went blank as that familiar glowing blue orb appeared in the demon's hand.

For the next few minutes, Bill went through hundreds of memories, blocking, destroying, and changing most of them. Getting rid of all of his memories of the Pines family, all but the ones of hatred and fear.

After he was finished, Pine-Tree's eyes fluttered shut and without another word, Bill left the room.

He didn't understand.

Normally, if someone caused him this much trouble, he'd kill them on the spot. That was the main plan with Pine-Tree, wasn't it? So what changed? Why did it change? It rocked him to his core. The question never left his mind. Not once.

It was so confusing and absolutely infuriating. How interesting. This boy was certainly something else.

After watching Bill leave, Ensley and Pyronica looked down at Pine-Tree, his face was so peaceful despite what had just happened. A peaceful expression from Pine-Tree was a sight they haven't seen in a long while. A sight long forgotten and yet so missed.

Looking at his head, the burn mark was so clear it was almost like you could see it grossly throbbing. Making it good news the boy was still asleep. That would probably hurt very much if he were awake.

Pyronica turned around and started walking away.

"Miss Pyronica, what are you doing?" Ensley asked, watching her moves curiously. The fairy knew that she wouldn't hurt Pine-Tree like Bill does so she was more relaxed when Pyronica moved towards him.

The female demon rolled her eye. "Bringing him to the circus." She said sarcastically. "What does it look like?! I'm putting him to bed."

The fairy blushed, dumbfounded. "R-Right. Sorry."

Pyronica slid the boy into his bed, gently pulling his blanket up to his chin, sitting on the bed beside him, twirling his hair in her fingers. "Human hair is so soft. I'm kind of jealous..." She said, to no one in particular.

"W-Well I heard they put certain chemicals together into a kind of soap that makes their hair soft and light."

"Hmmm, I heard that too. We have something similar in my home dimension."

Ensley smiled. "I'm sure the human soap smells a lot better though!"

The two of them laughed together at the comment. "Yes, the female mortals here are very judge-y of each other and very picky about how they and others see themselves."

"How strange, like- Who cares what others think about you?" Ensley said.

"Right?! Ugh, Mortals are so helpless and worthless."

"They really are heh. But not this one!" The fairy put her hand on Pine-Tree's head.

The demon smiled. "Of course not this one! He was raised by us! He's much better than those 'Meatsacks' as Bill calls them. I'd do anything for this one, can't say the same about any of the others."
