~3 days later~

Pine-Tree was sitting at his desk, writing in his journal, he wrote about everything that had happened within the last week.

Everything felt different today. He didn't know why. Ensley hasn't spoken to him since the time they confessed to each other, but he knows they're on good terms because whenever they see each other they'd give a smile and a wave. So they were okay on that part.

His friends haven't really changed when it came to the boy, they didn't pay much attention to him but when they did, they were happy that he had returned. Probably because Bill wasn't as stressed and mean as he usually is...

Speaking of Bill... he's been a lot more cold towards Pine-Tree now, putting him down every opportunity he got. The boy only assumed it was his fault. He didn't know how dangerous those humans actually were until Bill had told him. He should never have doubted the demon; he should never have thought about actually staying with a group of humans; he should never have trusted them. He didn't know at the time and now Bill is upset with him.

Pine-Tree's eyes filled up with tears as he hit his head with his hand and pushed it down onto his desk, giving himself a headache.

He felt he deserved it. In fact, he deserved much more pain than just this, but he was too ashamed to even get up to punish himself.

How could he be so stupid, Bill warned him and he ignored his warning. Bill is always right, why didn't he just trust that his own feeble mind was wrong? He should have known better, Bill taught him better than to question him. The boy should have trusted him with no questions asked.

It's all those stupid mortal's fault. Especially that girl- Mabel. She started all of this, tricked him into believing that some mortals were good. She's evil. Awful! HORRIBLE! He doesn't deserve pain, she does! She started it! All of his pain is all her fault!

If only he could bring her down to her knees, he'd make her sorry forever for manipulating him.

Maybe Bill could help him do that...

But why would he want to?! Pine-Tree banged his head on his desk at a slow pace, not paying attention to what's around him anymore. That is until-

"Pine-Tree! What are you doing? Stop that!" A female voice exclaimed, putting her hand between the desk and Pine-Tree's head. When the boy looked over to who the voice belonged to, it was Ensley, he was very happy to see her, but he was too upset with himself to show it.

"Oh... hi Ensley..."

"Excuse me? Don't 'hi Ensley' me! What were you doing? Why were you doing that?" She asked sternly, demanding an answer.

The boy looked at her with very conflicted and upset eyes. "I-I don't know... I'm sorry. I'm just mad. I guess." He said, putting his head back down onto his desk, lightly this time.

Ensley rubbed her hand through his hair, trying to comfort him. "Who are you mad at?"

"Myself... and those stupid humans... I actually trusted them... I actually thought they could be trusted." He said before picking his head back up to look at the girl with him. "How could I think such a ridiculous thing? I-I don't know what got into me. Now Bill hates me and everything."

"Surely he doesn't hate you-"

"He called me a 'complete failure' and stopped being kind to me, or really even acknowledging me." Pine-Tree said, putting his head back down on the desk.

Ensley's eyes turned to remorse with a hint of unnoticeable anger as she put her arm around the boy. "Well Bill doesn't know what he's talking about. You are anything but a failure. If anything he's the failure for thinking you're a failure when he failed to realize how much you're not a failure." She said all in one breath which made both of them giggle a bit.
