As the hours flew by the group of survivors that included Mabel and Stan all fell asleep while watching Ducktective, and as more time flew by, the shack slowly got quieter and quieter as more and more people fell into a deep slumber.

When it hit midnight, Ford kept his word and brought Pine-Tree back upstairs. To which he was excited for. Finally he wasn't going to be cooped up in an underground anymore. Finally!

When Pine-Tree followed Ford out through the secret vending machine, he was confused. There weren't as many humans around and the windows had some sort of black cloth over them. But- in order to not seem suspicious, Pine-Tree didn't ask about or mention his conflicting thoughts.

Instead he started walking around the shack, trying to see if there was any window that wasn't covered. There wasn't. He couldn't move or touch them either, he'd seem suspicious if he did that. Hmmm... well shoot.

"What are you doing, kid?" He heard Ford's voice ask him. He didn't notice he was that deep in thought, he was just staring at one of the windows. "O-Oh... I was just uh- thinking... I don't really know what about."

"Hm. Daydreaming, perhaps?" Ford suggested.

Pine-Tree tilted his head to the side. "What's daydreaming?"

Ford chuckled, walking over to the kid. "Daydreaming is essentially dreaming with your eyes open, or you get lost in your own thoughts, not paying attention to what's around you."

"Oh! Then yeah, daydreaming is the word."

The man laughed through his nose before walking into the kitchen with Pine-Tree following him.

Ford pointed at one of the chairs around the kitchen table, indirectly telling him to sit down, which he did. The chair he sat on definitely wasn't the most comfortable but was 100% better than that metal table he had in the lab.

The scientist then came over to him and sat in the seat next to him, handing him a glass cup of water. "Thank you."

"No trouble." Ford replied. "Kid, would you mind if I asked you a few questions?"

Pine-Tree put down the half empty cup he was drinking out of and nodded his head.

"What's your relationship with Bill Cipher? How do you know him?"

Pine-Tree immediately felt uncomfortable. "I- uh I- um... W-Well... I-I've lived w-with him my w-whole l-life... H-He's great."

Ford shuddered at his nephew saying Bill Cipher was 'great'. He never wanted to expose everything more than right at this very moment, but he fought to keep his composure as he could tell the boy was uncomfortable and still quite nervous.

"I see, well, let's move on from him and tell me a bit about yourself, what's something about you no one that met you right now would?" Ford asked

, trying to ease the tension but still get the information he needed.

Pine-Tree took a few breaths before trying to answer the question, he did say it was okay for the man to ask him questions, so he's in it now. "Well uh l-let's see... I'm the o-only human from T-The Nightmare R-Realm. I-I think I'm B-Bill's favorite... or- I h-hope I am at least." He laughed anxiously.

"Really... tell me more." Ford said, trying to seem as interested as possible. He was incredibly interested but he needed - needed - the kid to continue.

"I-I'm the only o-one who is only at d-double d-digits when it comes t-to age. E-Everyone else is in t-their hundred's, thousands, or millions. B-Bill is even in his t-trillions and is without a d-doubt the oldest out of all of u-us! P-Plus he is, of course, the s-smartest of us, h-he is our lord and master a-after all." Pine-Tree giggled.
