Pine-Tree's training has gone on for a grand total of 8 hours straight. The boy begged for a break, for he was exhausted, but Bill was always quick to deny the request, giving the kid yet another terribly painful, yet silent punishment while still training him.

The kid's feet and legs hurt from standing, walking, and running; his arms hurt from constantly being flailed around and casting spells; his brain hurt from all the new knowledge; and his heart and mind hurt from the constant reprimanding and belittlement that the demon threw at him.

Although he already was, Bill was making sure that the boy was sorry for his failures to him; he was making sure Pine-Tree learned the lesson; he was making sure the kid regretted every second of that whole ordeal.

Pine-Tree knew what Bill was doing as well, he didn't complain. He deserved it. Besides, if this had to happen in order for Bill to forgive him, then he had to take it. The need for forgiveness is what kept him going, that- and his increasingly burning hatred for Mabel, Ford, and Stan. Mostly Mabel though.

After another 4 hours, the boy could barely stand on his feet, he was incredibly tired and couldn't take much more. Bill was quick to notice too, he saw the bags that had started to form under the kid's eyes and how he started to lose his balance every so often.

Bill was pleased. Pine-Tree had learned and pretty much mastered 9 new spells in just 12 hours.

When the boy finished his final spell without any mess-ups he couldn't stand anymore, he fell to the floor and made his way onto his back, absolutely weary. "Bill... I-I can't do a-anymore... M-May I please g-go to b-bed now? Please!" Pine-Tree begged, still on the floor trying to catch his breath.

The demon flew over to him, studying him for a moment. The exhaustion was practically dripping off this kid. Everything about him screamed 'I need sleep!'

Bill picked the kid up off the ground and carried him off to his room. Though, before they even got there Pine-Tree had fallen asleep in his arms. The demon rolled his eyes while placing him in his bed and putting the covers over him. Just looking at his calm and peaceful face. "You are a stupid child. You made me very angry at you and you have a lot to do before you get back to a lighter level." Bill said. "But you did well today." He finished before leaving the room.

A small smile appeared on the boy's face before he quickly drifted back into his deep and dreamless sleep. A nice relaxing rest was exactly what he needed after his long long day.

"RISE AND SHINE!!!" A bright and cheery voice rang through Pine-Tree's ears.

He quickly jumped up and fell off the side of his bed in a panic. A light chuckle followed as two arms picked the boy up and onto his feet. Pine-Tree rubbed his eyes as the bright colorful hair of Ensley filled his vision.

"Whyyyyy???" Pine-Tree dragged out, still trying to wake himself up.

Ensley laughed. "Because it's fuuuuuuuuuuun! Now come on! Get your clothes on, comb your hair, scrub your face, and blow your nose!" She exclaimed, putting clothes out on the kid's bed for him.

"Why do you talk so weird?" Pine-Tree said, picking up his sheets off the floor that he knocked down.

Ensley stopped what she was doing and looked at him with a sassy expression. "Why do you talk so normal?"

When Pine-Tree stayed quiet, they both knew she got him. "Alright. Alright..." the boy said, accepting his defeat.

Pine-Tree walked up to his bed, grabbing the clothing that Ensley put out for him. "Oh so I guess I'm sporting blue today?" He asked, randomly. He's been wearing yellow for so long he wasn't expecting something else.

"Well yeah, you haven't worn blue in a while so I thought I'd switch it up today. Now then, get your clothes on, get ready! Chop, chop!" She said with a smile plastered on her face. It made Pine-Tree kinda weirded out, she was oddly positive today.

"What's the rush? Rush of time and rush of positivity? Did you eat anything with sugar in it again?" Pine-Tree asked.

"Noooooo..."

The boy gave her a 'really?' look with his hands on his hips.

Ensley rolled her eyes. "Maybe... but that's not the point! The point is Bill wants you in the training room in an hour! He wants to teach you more stuff that you can use! I can tell you both enjoyed your lesson together." She said, her smile never faltering.

"What?! Were you watching us??"

"Did you seriously expect me to miss such a father-son moment?" Ensley said.

The boy didn't respond... his face kind of went blank as he got lost in his deep thoughts.

Father-son? Ensley sees them both as father and son? Now that he thought of it, other than that one quick minute with Mabel- Pine-Tree never really thought of his relationship with Bill. He never knew what to think of him as... he didn't know what a father figure was like since Bill didn't use the words father, mother, sister, and brother. He always saw those words as human words and never used them.

How do fathers act? Would Bill be considered as one if they were both human? Aren't fathers and sons family to one another?

If Ensley is right and Bill could be considered his father then technically those humans aren't his family. They might be blood related but that doesn't make them family! They don't care for him, they never have so they AREN'T family!

All demons he grew up with care about him and he cares about them. So... they're his family! His only family, and families stick together.

Forever.
