Did I hear my girlfriend right just now? She really wants to go back to the piece of shit that caused her so much heartache? While expecting my child? Hell no. I gently grabbed her chin and wiped the tears off her cheeks with my thumbs.

"Evelyn Rae Hadley, you listen to me, okay? You're upset. I see that. You're also pregnant and hormonal which means your emotions are all over the place. Think about what the last 7 years ended up as. Think of how angry and heartbroken you were. You are safe now, baby. I got you. I won't pick up and leave. You're not just a convenience. You are my world. I'm not going to drop you because I'm bored like he did. I won't hurt you, Evelyn. I promise. You and this baby are my whole life now. Your kids are my life now. I'm not going to let you go, okay? I love you."

I kissed her gently again and again on her head and pulled her close. My hand resting on her tiny little 8 week pregnant belly.

"Thank you...so much." She said relaxing.

"What do you say we get up off the floor and go for a drive down the strip. You, me and our little sprinkle." I said.

"I'd like that." She says with a smile.

She gets up and her little belly is so cute and small. Then it hits me. How the hell are we going to tell her ex-husband, a buddy of mine, that we are expecting?

Driving down the Las Vegas strip at night with the top down hits different when you drive with the love of your life right beside you.

We stopped at In-N-Out per the baby's demand and end up at my place with a movie. I leave for filming in 3 weeks. And I'll be gone for another 3 weeks. By the time I get back, it'll be a month before I find out what we are having.

I happen to glance over at Evelyn and see that she's very intrigued in the show and that she is also naturally just holding her belly though there's nothing really there. I place my arm around her and kiss her cheek. It's only a few more minutes before she's out like a light. Asleep on the couch.
