(Jay)
I rang the doorbell at 7:00. My heart racing. I was so angry at what Zak had said about Evelyn. She was one of my closest friends. She didn't deserve that.

She opened the door in her lounging best. She wore tiny pajama shorts and a silky tank top. Her bronze skin glowing in the sunset. She had a fresh face and her long hair was in a topknot and velvet scrunchie.
Her face lit up when she saw me.

"JAY!" She said jumping into my arms. I hugged her and spun her around.

"Hi Ev! It's so good to see you!"

"Let's go inside. I've had tmz trying to stalk me all day." She said.

"These are for you by the way. I remember you saying that sunflowers are your favorite flower." I said handing her the bouquet.

We ate, drank wine and talked about the soon to be divorce.

When I could tell it was getting heavy, i asked about the kids.

Her face lights up when she gets talking about her kids. She didn't know it but I was watching her every move, remembering every single detail of her. I watched as she sipped her wine. She set her glass on the table. Pulling the scrunchie out of her hair, she let her long hair down. Laughing at something the kids said earlier, I saw her throw her head back and smile. She looks the same way she did when we first met. Still the long brown locks, that have a natural wave to them. Same lush lips that have a natural plump to them. Same green eyes that sparkle in the light. Same thin waist, long legs, tan skin, perfect teeth.

Her laughter turned to tears as she talked about what life would be like for her and the kids and how she'd have to tell them about the divorce.

God I wish she wasn't hurting. She needed a man who wasn't Zak. She never deserved the hurt she had with him.

I put my arm around her and she quickly cuddled in. I rubbed her arm and she grabbed my other hand. Her head was right on my chest and she pushed her ear against my chest to hear my heart.

"Sorry I'm being so touchy. I just really hate the idea of being a single mom and suddenly being alone. I just got my parents back in my life only for my husband to leave. Your heartbeat is so soothing , jay. So is your presence. Thank you for coming over." She said.

"Anything for you. You're one of my best friends. Even if we hadn't met through Zak, I think we'd have found each other somehow."

She looks up at me with her twinkling, wet green eyes and my heart skips a beat.

"You and I are a lot alike Jay. We are twin flames. You are going to make some woman very happy someday." She said.

Before I knew what I was doing, I placed my hand on her face. I scooped her chin up to meet my face and our lips met in a soft, exhilarating kiss.
