As we left, a huge amount of weight was lifted off my shoulders. Dallas was no longer a secret to everyone we wanted to tell. The car ride was quite as I held my belly and Jays hand.
"I've been thinking. I hate going back and forth between houses. I'm sure you do too. That's why I think we should buy a place." Jay said.
"What are you asking me?"
"Will you move in with me? Sell my place, move out of your house and buy a house together with you and me and your kids? Before Dallas comes."
We stopped at a light and Evelyn crashed her mouth into mine.
"Yes jay. I would love to. Nothing would make me happier than merging our lives together in a living space. Yes!"

Zak really hadn't said anything to me since announcing Dallas. All I remember is he got really sick that night and spent the rest of the night upstairs. He never answered the phone. Nancy always had to pick up and drop the kids off from my place. The kids never mentioned daddy acting weird but something was off.
He blew me off for a month. Decided that he couldn't come to his son's 6 birthday and sent Nan instead. She didn't know what was wrong with him either.

Before I knew it, I was 20 weeks pregnant. I hit 5 months the night of the Halloween special. The boys would be investigating an abandoned strip club near the museum. Zak was nothing but civil to Jay. Whatever he was feeling was directed at me and only me.
Jealousy? Maybe. Hatred? Probably. He does need to understand that I am in a much better place than where I was with him and he's the one who cut the tie.
Jay and I just bought a place. His sold quickly and I had to stay home from the special to pack boxes.
I'm excited to start a new chapter and move out from my parents and in with the man I love.
Soon we'd be a little family. All under one roof. Better than I ever could imagine my life being.
