Chapter Sixteen- Conflict of the Heart

        Knocking on the door in harsh sharp knocks, Jennifer threw her hair over her shoulder before allowing herself into his room. Not taking any time to look at her surroundings, she began to go on a rant about Sebastian.

        "I can't believe it! He is cheating on me...I mean I kind of guessed but told myself it wasn't real. Did you know? Is that why you kept pushing me from him?"

        "No, I didn't know...he said looking toward the ground.

        "I'm sorry for being rude last night...sorry for being so cruel today...I just...I'm afraid of hurting people..."

        "Who exactly?" He asked as he made his way toward her-holding her hand in his.

        "You, me, your wife, and even that bastard Sebastian...I just...I am tired of feeling guilty."

        Without warning, Colin pulled Jennifer toward him and placed his hand on her cheek.

        "Does this make you feel guilty?"

        Closing her eyes, she set her cheek against his hand.

        He moved his other hand to her waist and pulled her into him.

        "How about this?"

        She shook her head.

        "And this?" He asked as he kissed her lips. Not stopping, he pushed her against the wall as their lips disconnected for a second as she gasped. Slowly, she moved her hands down his chest and played with the bottom of his shirt. Sucking on her bottom lip, he pulled away-leaving her wanting more.

        "Is this okay?" He asked, slightly lifting up her shirt and tracing his fingers on her stomach. Getting goosebumps, Jennifer took a sharp breath in. "Why are you so nervous?"

        "No reason..."

        The look in her eye told him everything.

        "Are you still a virgin, Jennifer?"

        Shying away from him, she went toward the door but he placed his hands upon her waist.

        "I'm not mad. Don't go. Please, don't be sad...it's alright..."

        "I'm thirty-two years old and I have never fully given myself to anyone...It's not something to be proud of...I'm undesirable..."

        Hitting his palm against the door, he became sad.

        "You have it all wrong! You are incredible. I envy you and am honored you let me touch you. Even just your cheek. That's something to be proud of! Not ashamed!" Kissing her cheek, he placed his hand on her stomach. "I was just surprised...the way Sebastian talked to you...I just figured you had already..."

        "No....that's why he's cheating. We fought about three months ago about sex. He said how everybody was doing it-typical peer pressure..."

        "He puts guilt on you?"

        "Yeah...but I never gave in. To be completely truthful, I didn't want him in that way. I was with him for his comedic attitude and what I thought was a loyal heart...he's not who he portrayed..."

        "He is an actor....not that that makes it any better..." He could see the hurt in her eyes. As much as he wanted to be with her in that moment, he brought her to the couch by the window.

        "Talk to me. Tell me everything there is to know about Jennifer Morrison..." He said as he placed one arm on the top of the couch and the other on her lap.
