Pedal pushed as far as possible to the floor, Colin raced after the red truck that held his future. Jennifer watched as he had a fire in his eyes, and found it to be incredibly attractive. Seeing his passionate side caused her to glance upon him. In his mind, his eyes did not leave the car. Taking sharp turns, sending the car in a spin-nearly causing it to flip-caused both of them to feel queasy. That and the fact they would be the talk of the tabloids for years to come if they did not retrieve that picture. Quickly, he caught up to the driver to find him sporting a wicked grimace.
"Pull over!" He yelled, illegally lingering in the other lane.
The photographer ignored him and continued driving, still smiling. This angered Colin beyond belief. Without hesitation, he threw his steering wheel over and knocked the other car into a ditch. Slamming on the breaks, he jumped from the car and to the other one.
"Where is the damn photo?"
"Which one?" He said sarcastically, moving from the car slowly.
"The ones you took you conniving bastard!" Now clutching onto him tightly. Jennifer went toward the car and in the seat, she found a large black camera. Grabbing it quickly, she nodded toward Colin who still had his grip on him.
"We were rehearsing, do you understand?"
"Method actor?" He said with an arrogant tone.
Colin clenched his fists and hit his left hand against the car, shattering his window and causing his hand to bleed.
"Leave us alone you filthy pest."
Getting back into his car, Jennifer had already been in the passenger seat before he drove her back to her apartment. Sitting in the car, she looked at him deep. Without hesitation, he pulled her to him and kissed her-gripping her face. Pulling away, she handed him the camera in which he broke it outside his car, picking up the main mechanism and throwing it in a nearby trashcan. Slowly, they walked up to her apartment.
Sitting on the bar stool in the dining room, Colin tried to move his hand but found immense pain to follow as he tried. Wincing, he looked to a caring Jennifer and found a sweet domestic side of her that he found incredibly alluring. Not able to stop looking at her, he used his other hand to brush her hair behind her shoulder.
"No. I need to get you cleaned up." She said, applying a slight amount of pressure on his wounded hand. Leaving him for a moment, she went to the bathroom to retrieve supplies before making her way back and placing the objects on the counter beside them. First applying peroxide, he jumped back and she giggled.
"Why are you laughing at me?"
"I just never realized how much of a wimp you were..."
"Oh...I see...I just got done chasing down a greasy selfish bastard for over an hour and you are going to get on me for jumping when something that hurts incredibly makes me jump? I was saving both of our reputations..."
"Sorry...Thank you."
He gave her a surprised smile and watched as she then took the wrap from the counter and unrolled it and placed it around his hand. Wincing once more, he gritted his teeth tight so she did not giggle again and waited to find that she had finished quickly.
"Thank YOU..." He said quietly, to the point that she didn't hear.
"What?"
"You are such a..." He said as he grabbed her and their lips were a mere centimeter apart-if that.
"What?"
"What am I?" She said with a fading smile, as the moment became more intense than humorous.
"Mine." He said before kissing her.
