Chapter Sixty Three- The Trap

        Jennifer quickly made her way to her phone and called Thomas. Acting emotionally wounded, she pretended to be crying and incredibly emotional.

        "Hello?"

        "Thomas? I am so done with Colin! I need a real man! Someone who isn't afraid to push boundaries...someone who isn't afraid to release the inner animal in themselves." She rolled her eyes at her own words. To her, she was unsure if he bought the fake words. Letting out a sigh, she smiled. "So, what? Do you want to meet up? Show me what I've been missing?"

        A giggle could be heard at the other end of the phone. He then sighed.

        "Goldie, what makes you think I still want you?" He said with narcissism in his voice as well as great humor.

        "I thought we shared a connection...I guess I was wrong."

        "Wait." He said quick.

        It was then, she knew he still desired something with her. Which means she has a chance to catch him.

        "For what?"

        "If you want to meet, it's on my terms..."

        "Deal..."

        "I'll text you the address..."

        Then the line went dead. Jennifer looked at the detective across the table and smiled.

        "Perfect. You're a pro. Now when we get the address, we will send all the guys we got and cover all the exits. Got it?"

        She nodded.

        Minutes turned into an hour before she received the text of the address. Within seconds, all the officers but one set out to capture the stalker. They waited by the radio for updates. Jennifer listened close but realized the words they spoke of were "police" talk. The detective explained what they said.

        As she awaited news, her phone buzzed. It was Colin.

        "So I was thinking we could go to Venice....The gondolas, the music...the food...It's making my mouth water even thinking about it..." He said with a grin on the other end of the phone.

        "Did you talk to Helen?"

        He sighed. "Yeah...she explained everything. She broke down....But-"

        "Don't say it. I can't stand to hear the words..."

        "What words?"

        "That you are staying with her out of guilt..."

        He giggled. "Would I have asked you about the trip if I intended on staying with my wife. She told me how she fell for another...We decided to separate until the divorce papers are finalized. I sent them this morning-with all signatures."

        "I wish this phone wasn't between us right now..." She said stepping outside, with a sweet blush.

        "Oh really?" He said, obviously intrigued by her tone.

        "Yes. I wish I could kiss you until our lips grew sore...and then spend night after night in your embrace with you whispering all your naughty thoughts to me.." She said letting out a giggle at the end of the sentence.

        "Deal." A voice said before a hand was wrapped around her mouth. She dropped the phone.

        "Jennifer?" Colin called from the other end of the phone.
