Chapter Sixty Five- Shots Fired

        "He doesn't. He left you several times, knowing I was out there and he didn't care to protect you...And the pregnancy..."

        "I know it was yours. The baby. Or did you not? The child was is two weeks old. You have been stalking me for over two months, you were with her the night you came after us on the beach. Only she stayed behind. You were there in the car with her. She wanted you to get a picture to ruin him so she'd get everything and have this amazing life with you...She is the one who doesn't know real love."

        As she spoke those words, he grew angry and hit her harshly in the stomach. She coughed violently, to the point of gagging.

        "She said to take time. To give time apart so we could know what real love was...You don't know what that is!"

        "Thomas..." She said in her most sentimental voice she could. "Love is unconditional. It is wanting to be with that person all day long. In every situation, even in their bad...She used you and she now has your child. You can be with her, I don't know why you would want to be with someone like that, but that's not my choice. If you think you deserve it, go after it..."

        "I never wanted her! She was temporary. I loved the sex with her. But the chemistry, the attraction, the feelings, that was with you!" He said, now getting more emotional than angry.

        "Talk to me about it..." She said as she saw Colin enter through the door, immediate relief swept through her body.

        "I am tired of these games. I have waited months to screw you...."

        "You did..." She said. This surprised him.

        "What?"

        "You did screw me...over. You hurt me. You made me wish I didn't exist at points. You made me believe lies you created for your "better" life. The thing is, life is what it is. Whether you fail or prevail that is up to you. I have chosen to take this moment-despite the ones that follow and embrace it. That's all I can do. You want to take innocence from me? You're too late. I want you to do it"

        "No...Fight me...This isn't you..." He said growing angry. "Don't comply! Fight it!"

        "I have nothing left in me. You drained me." She said as she held her head down.

        In that moment, Colin came in and decked him, he fell to the floor on his knees. As Colin turned to bring down Jennifer, Thomas took a shot at him-then knocking Colin to his knees. Shaking it off, he stood up and they began a physical altercation which ended with Colin on the ground and Thomas getting ready to finish him off. Jennifer tried to feed Colin support, but was fading fast. The blow in the face she received earlier had caused excruciating pain to her. With foggy vision, she watched as a gun was pulled behind Colin's head.

        "NO!" She shouted as a shot rang out.
