Chapter Thirty Nine- Extortion

        Jennifer awoke to her phone buzzing on the beside table. Rubbing her eyes, she slid her finger across the screen to open it and found a text message awaiting her. She jumped up as she saw the message. Rushing to the window, she closed the curtains and went downstairs and looked at it again.

        So, I see you found someone else to take your picture...

        Along with the message was a picture of Colin taking a photo of Jennifer during one of their love sessions. She quickly jumped up and looked out the window to find no possible away he could have received the picture since they were twelve stories up.

        Don't tell him, or they go viral...

        Her heart stopped. Freezing in place, she found herself overcome with fear. Colin came down the stairs and she quickly stuck her phone on the table.

        "Everything alright love?"

        "It's fine...I'm just tired..."

        "Come back to bed..." He said motioning for her to come up the stairs.

        "I will in a minute, just getting a drink..."

        "Okay..." He said, not believing her statement but going to bed to not start a fight.

        Going back to her phone, she texted back but found she was unable to. The number was blocked. She threw her head back and mouthed "What do you want?" Then her phone buzzed.

        You. Only you. Alone.

        Again, her heart sank. She wondered how he heard her and decided she needed to have a plan.

        Lose the sheet.

        She began shaking her head. As her eyes began filling with tears.

        Or they go viral in ten seconds...

        Debating the situation in her head for a few moments, she slowly released the sheet. Turning, she looked out the window. 

        "Is this what you want?" She asked as tears poured down her cheeks.

        Good. Be in contact soon. Remember...I have your pictures...

        She threw her phone on the couch and made her way up the stairs, with the sheet wrapped around her once more. But with each step, she felt dirty. As if she had just released another one's secrets. Placing herself beside Colin in bed, he slid his arm on her waist and pulled her into him, resting is head behind hers. She found herself unable to sleep.
