Chapter Forty- Tests and Tasks

        Removing herself from the apartment, Jennifer took a deep breath and got into a cab as she made her way back to her place to bring her stuff to the apartment. Taking the boxes from her car, she brought them to her apartment and placed her belongings into them. Sweeping the residence swiftly, she snatched only the objects she would need; shaver, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, along her favorite objects such as an old sweatshirt and a few books. Carrying them to her car, she found Colin waiting against her car.

        "Do you have a habit of sneaking away?" He asked as he moved from the car and toward her.

        "I'm sorry, I was hoping to return before you got up."

        "I'm a light sleeper. When you left, I heard you...are you alright?" He asked, this time his grasp was upon her wrists. "Something happened after last night..." He then had an awful realization. "Did I hurt you? Do you regret-"

        "No." She said quick. "That's not it at all. I'm sorry. Just a lot on my mind..." She said as she felt her phone buzz in her pocket. Jennifer forced a sweet expression while underneath fear overtook her feelings. Every feeling in her body was terrified.

        "Let me put these in my car, I'll drive you back..."

        "Are you sure? I can drive myself..."

        "I insist..." He said taking the boxes from the ground and into his car. As his focus was on something else, she looked at her phone.

        Did you pack anything for me Jen? 

        She ignored him.

        You can not ignore me. You know how angry it gets me...

        She slid the phone in her pocket as Colin came around to open her car door. Sliding in the car she took a deep breath as she felt it buzz once more. As he focused on the road, she read it once more.

        Text the following number to respond to me. I have a task for you and if you succeed with them, your pictures will be our little secret. Agreed?

       She texted the other number listed and got a response within seconds.
