Chapter Seventeen- Coffee

        As the sunrise broke, Colin awoke as he saw Jennifer asleep upon his lap. Gently, he placed his hand upon her cheek and rubbed it slow. Feeling her soft skin, he was unable to hide a smile. With lingering fingers, his touch alarmed her and she awoke with a jolt.

        "What time is it?" She asked quick as she moved from his sweet embrace to her phone across the room.

        Looking at the time, she took a deep breath and looked outside to cause herself more ease.

        "Why are you in such a rush?"

         "Sebastian may get suspicious that I have not come home..."

        "I thought..." He then rose from the couch and moved past her to the kitchen. "Never mind."

        "What is it?" she asked, clearly seeing the pain upon his face. Possibly even confusion.

        "Nothing. Do you want some breakfast?" He said in attempts to change the subject.

        "Colin, what made you upset?"

        "I'm not...I just believed you had left him and that was why you came here...to be with me..."

        "I am not quite sure what I want..." She said truthfully, knowing the words she said were a risk on his constant hesitant feelings of her.

        "I can not blame you for your confusion...just be true to your heart. It is a beautiful heart at that..."

        Not being able to resist or move past the sweet moment, Jennifer slowly moved forward and kissed his lips sweetly. He brushed her hair behind her ear as he kissed her in return. Eventually he leaned her against he counter since he did not have a good hold on his own stance. Any time he kissed her, it made him lose focus on what his current actions had been.

        "We should get breakfast..." He said as he pulled her shirt up over her shoulder.

        Giving him a surprised look, he smirked. "What?"

        "You are the only guy to ever do that...most guys do not pull UP a woman's shirt..."

        "You have been with guys...not a man..." He said as he placed two coffee cups on the counter, both different colors and one with a slight crack on the top. "Men know how to treat ladies such as yourself," Taking the coffeepot off of the coffeemaker, he poured it into the two cups. "They know what to say, when to be sexual then committed." Quickly, he maneuvered toward the small fridge and retrieved the creamer and sugar on the counter as he turned toward her. He began stirring his coffee slowly as he looked toward her. "They know how to make them think, desire, crave, and even obsess...but love. Men make women feel love. Guys make women feel lust or used even..."

        "Are you saying I am obsessed with you?" She said sipping her coffee.

        "Well...you are the one that showed up here..." He said giving her a sarcastic grin.

        Playfully, she hit his arm but he unexpectedly grabbed it. In that moment, his demeanour changed from playful to serious.

        "I will never force you into doing anything Jennifer. I want you to want to be with me because you can not imagine being without me. Not because of an overtake of lustful hormones. If I had done that with you, I would have had you at least six times by now."

        "You do not hold back, do you?"

        "Life is too short." he said smiling and releasing her hand. "Now how about that coffee?"
