I know this profile guide is strictly for the DC fanfics I have written but I can discuss whatever I like in the random section, right?
I finally brought out an old Tom Riddle fanfic of mine into the open. It is titled Paradox and I had first mentioned it in my HP help book Everything Wrong With HP Fanfictions on my original account Purplemist14.
The majority of the Tom Riddle fanfics I have read are based on the same concept of a Hogwarts student using the time turner to go back in time and make Tom Riddle fall in love with her so that he wouldn't become Voldemort etc etc.
nd I have always been irritated by this whole concept because why on earth would someone take the trouble to go back in time and choose the harder way of making a person, who supposedly can't love, fall in love with her and then hope he changes...
I just don't agree that things would work out the way OCs expect in these stories. Riddle still becomes Voldemort and all the time travel is useless.
So I was thinking why wouldn't someone go back in time and kill Riddle but in doing so, she would create a paradox. A never ending time loop in which she would keep on killing Riddle but not be able to return to her time period because her action messed up a timeline and made her get stuck forever.
So now she has to find a way to break a time loop by altering things she did in her time travel and if she succeeds, she just might return to her own time though whether or not Riddle would survive or become Voldemort is yet to be decided.
However, I have had this idea since 2019 but I had almost abandoned it because I literally had no time to write it out.
But as I have started reading Harry Potter fanfictions again, I was tempted to bring it out in the open. Still I am not saying I would be regularly updating it, I just have a few chapters planned out so I will just post those and see what you guys think about it.
Whether or not I decide to write it all out depends on the feedback I receive and on the possibility of me scraping out some time for it, though I am not so sure about the latter these days.
So I have published it and it is available for reading but I am not so sure how long it will remain posted.
It focuses on Eleanor Troy who is not a student at Hogwarts when she goes back in time to kill Riddle and at the time she meets him, Tom is working at Borgin and Burkes after graduating from school.
I have tried to do something different in this fanfic because in the very first chapter, I killed Tom Riddle but the act starts a time loop and the rest of the story focuses on Eleanor trying to break it.

I hope it turns out very different from the cliché Tom Riddle fanfics we have here on Wattpad and though there's nothing wrong with them, I am just tired of seeing the same things happening with different OCs. So I am trying to keep it as different as I possibly can, starting with the fact that this will not be a love story.
Anyhow, if you guys have any thoughts regarding it, let me know.
