OVERVIEW:

In an alternate universe where Thomas and Martha Wayne were not murdered brutally in front of young Bruce at Crime Alley, the life of the Dark Knight evolved much differently as what we know now. Thomas Wayne succeeded in becoming Mayor for Gotham and Bruce had always lived a life of privilege and luxury.

Along with all that privilege and luxury came a shelter from what actually was going on in the city streets hence Bruce had never known how being a common man in the dreary city of crime would be like.

On the other hand, Richard Grayson went through the tragic death of his parents and suffered life's hardships first hand. He was not adopted by a loving foster family, survived on the streets regularly fluctuating to the juvie and then mysteriously vanished.

Years later, the boy returned to the city of crime as a burning soul of vengeance. Known as Grayson to the common citizens and Batman to those who dared to hurt the innocent, that spirit of vengeance became the only savior Gotham could count on.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

This is a product of another of my wild flights of imagination which got me thinking how Bruce Wayne would have turned out to be like if his parents had not been murdered and he had spent his life without knowing loss or tragedy.

By taking this idea, I am experimenting a lot with the entirety of DC as Batman is a very significant character and changing this main point in his arc would change a lot of upcoming events as well. Such as the reason Bruce took Dick Grayson in was because he could see the boy inflicted with a similar fate as his own and he wanted to help him out.

But if Bruce hadn't gone through the death of his parents, maybe he would not have taken the decision of adopting a kid when he himself was a young bachelor with so much in life to explore and accomplish. Maybe he would have gone a different route.

And similarly the main reason he became Batman was to put a stop to crime and injustice because he had first handedly experienced that. However, if he hadn't been through his parent's death, maybe he would never even become Batman.

Similarly, if Richard had never been adopted by Bruce, his life and personality would get shaped very differently.

This story is going to be very different from what I usually write and it is clearly going to be a challenge for me. So let's see how this idea gets modified with time and I am very excited to work on it.
