OVERVIEW:
In an alternate universe where Richard Grayson donned the identity of Batman, getting caught up in the entangling webs of crime and mystery in Gotham, the Court of Owls was no mere fable. Comprised of the oldest and most famous founding families of Gotham, the Court had kept a watchful eye over the dark city for years.
However, the command of the Court fell in the wrong hands and it resulted in chaos. With Romilda Vikander's sinister disappearance and the bewildering case of Alan Wayne's suicide, the Court was no longer just a watchful eye over the city.
Instead it became an unnamed terror to those who crossed paths with it, instilling fear despite staying out of sight. It became a taboo for the citizens who knew of it to discuss anything regarding the group openly and whenever anyone got too curious, the Talons would look after it that there would be no such cases rising again.
In the shroud of a long forgotten myth, the Court of Owls became solely responsible for the deaths of many, including the Flying Graysons, still there was no proof of that fact.
It all should have stopped when the rightful Head took control but instead of taking the reigns herself, she chose the Vanavers to lead the Court instead.
Henry and Samantha Vanaver became her puppets but little did she know that the strings of her prized marionette were gradually breaking. It wouldn't be long before the strings completely broke and then there could be no way to control the threat that lurked among the Talons still.
That very marionette could become the cause to their demise. Because it is a well known fact that even the devil knows not where women sharpen their knives.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
This is the sequel to Espera | R. Grayson and is a continuation of that story with the focus shifted onto Samantha instead of Richard. Even though initially Samantha wasn't going to be even a part of the previous story, when I added her character in it I found that she presented a lot of possibilities for me to expand on the fanfic.
Samantha is a character we don't see much of in canon except for her appearance in the Batman vs Robin movie. In this story however I had the freedom to change a lot since it is already an AU and Bruce never became Batman, leaving room for a lot more interesting options.
Andanza focuses on Samantha's life and includes her perspective on being a part of the Court, first a Talon and then the Head. I have a lot of surprises planned for you all in this story and fair warning, the ending might leave you all shocked.
