Amina felt every set of eyes on her as she walked into the eating hall with Cassiopeia in her arms the next morning. After a long talk with Aleksander, Zoya, Genya, Ivan, Fedyor, and some Grisha guards, they decided that Amina will be moved to the room next to Aleksander's and Cassiopeia will reside in her room. Amina also had a private conversation with the General, coming to the conclusion that they will go public. She warned him that she does intend to play the mother role for the child so he must be prepared to play the father role. He agreed with no hesitation whatsoever. Aleksander had ordered to have at least one guard around her at all times since Zoya, Ivan, Fedyor, or Genya were with her all the time anyway. Kirigan wanted to keep the child a secret for the first week for safety and so that Cassiopeia could get used to it.
But now as Amina sat down at her new seat next to Aleksander with Cassiopeia in her lap, there was no more hiding it. Zoya was sitting to her left with Genya on her other side. Aleksander had been seated on Mina's right along with Fedyor and Ivan. The silence in the room was suffocating. Aleksander never ate with the other Grisha and there was also never a baby brought with anyone, along with the fact that their small group all consisted of different orders of Grisha sat together.
As Cassiopeia started gurgling happily, she fed her some butternut squash and sweet potato mash. Amina was quite hungry but she wanted to feed Cassi first. Chatter slowly started again although it was mainly whispered about Amina, Cassiopeia, and Aleksander. She snapped her head in his direction as he pushed some food towards her. She looked at him questioningly as he motioned for her to eat.
"I have to feed Cassi first"
"Give her to me, I'll feed her. You eat" he commanded.
She wordlessly handed Cassiopeia over to him with a small smile. As Aleksander fed the child, surprisingly well, she might add, Grisha stared at him shamelessly. They had never seen their General this soft and loving with anybody.
He smiled down at the child, nuzzling their noses together making Cassiopeia let out joyous laughter. Practically everyone in the room let out cooes at the sight. Once he finished feeding her, he got up, telling Amina he was going to burp Cassiopeia. It was quite chilly outside so he paced around the room, patting her on the back.
