She debated asking Fedyor to make her faint. She seriously considered it.

She had to meet Baghra today. Her, practically, mother-in-law. Aleksander and Amina weren't married, she knew this, but they sure did act like it.

She hadn't seen the lady in years. But she wanted the woman to have a better relationship with her son. So she had decided months ago that she wanted her to meet their daughter. It had taken months to convince Aleksander and he finally relented.

But now as she was walking to her hut, she was incredibly nervous.

She didn't know how Baghra would react to seeing her, nonetheless with Cassiopeia. The last time they had seen each other was when Amina was a small child. It was only a brief encounter, but Baghra seemed to not hate her for whatever reason.

She knocked on the rusty wooden door and waited outside. She tapped her boot on the ground in a nervous rhythm that had lulled Cassiopeia into a state of calm.

After what seemed like an eternity, Baghra opened the door.

"Hello Baghra"

"Hello, dear" she greeted back, eyes flitting to the baby in Mina's arms.

She was taken aback by her attitude. She was usually described by the few people who had the misfortune of meeting her as cold and harsh. Yet the woman in front of her was not like that.

She had an inkling that maybe Baghra was being nice to Amina because she was trying to solve the resent that Aleksander seemed to carry for his mother. And also maybe the fact that her grandchild was in front of her.

She invited her in and sat her down in the stuffy hut. They chatted for a little bit before Amina finally asked Baghra if she wanted to hold Cassiopeia.

The elderly woman momentarily froze before nodding. As soon as held the baby, she informed the young mother that she liked the name Cassiopeia and then proceeded to tell her that it was probably because Aleksander didn't pick it out. She laughed at the statement, not noticing that hours had passed as they chatted. Cassiopeia seemed to be reacting well to her, which Amina took as a good sign.

By the time Amina had gone back inside the Little Palace, it was already nighttime. She fed Cassiopeia and brought her to her shared bedroom and laid her down between Alexander, who was already asleep, and herself. That night, she fell asleep with a grin on her face.
