"Mina?"
She groaned and buried her head further into the pillow.
"Amina, wake up."
She didn't get up.
"Zoya and Nikolai got together."
She shot out of bed at lightning speed.
"So that's what it takes to get you out of bed?"
She turned to find Aleksander sitting at his desk and finishing up the paperwork he had since they had gotten back.
"Did they actually get together?" she asked eagerly.
Her hair was messed up from sleep and her nightgown wrinkled but he still thought she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen.
He nodded as she got up and started getting ready happily. She talked about nonsense as she moved around the room but all he did was stare at her. She had this child-like innocence about her along with her sarcastic comments and witty sense of humor. He thought she was perfect.
"Are you Grisha?"
She stopped midway through slipping her red kefta on to look back at him.
"What the fuck?"
"I said, are you Grisha?"
"Do not," she warned.
"You must be a Heartrender because my heart stopped whe-"
The sentence was cut short by a hairbrush being thrown at his head.
"What is it with you and Nkolai and these Grisha-themed pick-up lines. He used to use them on Zoya before we left, too. You know what, I'm sure he still does."
She shook her head in disappointment and finished getting ready.
"Are you the Sun Summoner? Because you light up my wor-"
This time a shoe was thrown at his face.
