Nikolai, the king's oldest son was coming back to Ravka from being out on the seas. Along with that, Aleksander had somehow gotten the king to make Nikolai the crowned prince instead of Vasily who is known for making bad decisions.
Nikolai hates his family and they returned the emotion but they also knew that putting Ravka's future on Vasily's shoulders was a recipe for disaster. The king was getting too old and the people were getting restless.
Rumor has it that he was the only tolerable royal so needless to say she was happy. Plus she can set him up with Zoya.
She, her husband, daughter, and the rest of the inner circle were currently standing near the harbor, waiting for the ship to arrive.
She spotted the ship a few minutes later along with a head blonde hair.
As soon as the prince got off, the general greeted him followed by the rest.
Nikolai crouched down in order to say 'hi' to Cassiopeia, who seemed to take an immediate liking to him.
He had requested to stay at the Little Palace instead of the Grand Palace because he didn't like his family.
He was granted permission by Aleksander so that's where they went.
