Chapter 58: Her Answers

Zion

"Why? What's wrong with you?"

I don't know what should I feel. My whole body's trembling. She's throwing out blood. It's more than Rashea's shot. I am completely blanked out when she started to fall asleep. Why did she do this again?

"Ruby?" Reis called her. "Ruby? Ruby, gising! Ruby, uuwi na tayo! Tapos na ang laban! Shim, wake up!" He yelled, holding her hand.

I heard shots. The last man who shot her fell inside the barrier.

Gulong-gulo ang isip ko. Hindi ko alam ang dapat na maramdaman. How many times do you have to save me when your only goal in the end was to hurt me?

"Are you okay?" Iyon ang tanging bagay na lumabas sa labi ko habang pinapanood siyang maligo sa sarili niyang dugo.

I want to give up. I'm not strong, though. Between us, she's braver than me. She fetched all the blame. Between us, she sacrificed the most. And I don't have the courage to face her. I can't take this battle anymore.

"You won't leave me? Right? I may leave you but you won't..." I touched her cheeks when she said those words to ask me.

Tuluyang tumulo ang luhang kanina pa nangingilid sa mga mata ko. Can I stop acting this time? I can't do this, this time.

"Promise me you'll never leave, first." I answered in a cold voice before carrying her in my arms.

"Where are you taking her?" Her brother asked.

I looked at him with a vexed look. Hindi ko na siya sinagot. Ginamit ko ang kakayahan ko. I felt so weak after using it. We are not yet there. I'm not used with this uncanny blood.

Nang marating ang kastilyo, napaluhod ako. Tumingin ang lahat. Unang pumunta ang Ama niya sa gawi namin para salubungin ang nag-aagaw buhay na anak. I cursed when she started to get cold.

"What happened to her?"

"She got shot, Alpha." Nahihilong tugon ko.

"Bitiwan mo siya-

"There's no time for that, Alpha." I answered with no emotion before taking her inside the infirmary.

Patagilid ko siyang inihiga roon. Beside her was Rashea, she's now fine but she's still sleeping. She looks vegetative but it doesn't matter. I only need Ruby to survive.

What about her? Why do they all care for her now? Her life is in danger too but the doctors are in focus of giving her the treatment. Bakit si Rashea lang? Bakit hindi ang babaeng mahal ko? Bakit hindi rin si Ruby?

There's only one medic beside us, removing the bolt from her back. It was two shots when I saw where the blood comes out.

Kinuyom ko ang kamao ko. It was quivering that I could almost kill whoever will not give any care to her.

"Damn, why are you all there?! Her life is in danger too! She got shot twice!" Sigaw ko na ikinalingon nila.

"Calm down! Zion, if you're waking up, cool down! This won't help her!" Pag-aawat ni Conard pero hindi ako nakinig.

"Listen, Zion. You need to calm your beast for her! Lalong manghihina ang anak ko kung patuloy kang magwawala!"

I breathed out when her Mom stopped me. If this will save her, then I should leave. Right away. Lalabas na sana ako para iwanan siya pero narinig ko ang sinabi ng doktor.

"She's heating up. 70 degrees fever! Her body is failing, Alpha!"

I glanced at her. Her eyes were closed but tears are flowing down to her cheeks. I want to hold her. I want to hug her and say that she needs to fight death for me.
