Swords clanged as Amilia struck Vkmdndbg's sword. He tried to push her back.

"Are you mad today?" He struggled to say as they were in a stand still.

"What makes you say that?"

"You usually don't have this much fuel." Amilia started to slip a little.

"I just had a little scare last night."

"Don't tell me it was that witch." Amilia slipped and then back up as Vkmdndbg went to attack her again, as they did in training.

"Ugh." She groaned. "You heard about that too?"

"I pride myself in knowing what is going on to better accommodate your training."

"I see."

"So was it?"

"She has something to do with it." They clashed swords until Amilia chucked his out of his hand, but it didn't stop there. Vkmdndbg was actually able to stop her sword with his hand.

"You're getting a lot better. I'm happy to see the progress you've been achieving, it's marvelous."

"Thanks, but I'm not there yet."

"No, you are not." He flipped her onto her back and put his foot on her neck. She tried to get free, but she couldn't in the three seconds she had. They agreed that someone pinned down would have at least a few seconds to get free before anything were to happen. Amilia wasn't able to get free, most of the time, you could say she failed. "Good job." Vkmdndbg told her.

"Good job?" Amilia repeated him. "I still got pinned, I would have died." She picked up her sword. "Let's-"

"No, we're done for today. Go on, get out of here." He turned to her and walked off into the alcove in the arena.

Amilia sighed and then put her sword back onto her belt. She turned around and left herself. They had been working for the past three hours, par Amilia's request. Amilia thumped around as she went to go see her mother. She opened the door and slammed it behind her.

"Woah there, little missy. Kind of hard don't you think?" Amilia looked up to Cristel.

"Ugh, sorry." She sat down on the stool, curled over.

"Is everything alright, dear?"

"I- I'm not strong enough." Amilia paused to drag her hand down her face. "I'm never going to be able to beat Unora and save Hix, it's just not possible." Cristel walked over to Amilia and rubbed her back with her hand.

"You're stronger than you think."

"Could you train me?" Amilia said, turning to look at her.

"Oh, no, I was never good at that stuff. I would probably be beaten by you quite quickly."

"You stood on your own with Unora though."

Cristel laughed, "Suppose I did. But the knife was never really enchanted, I had it engraved to look that way. I brought it along to the ball as just a precaution. You see, I'm better at outthinking the enemy, rather than fighting them."

"Ok, sure, but you threw the troll over on his backside."

"True, but I knew Chance wasn't going to harm me, so it was easy to knock him over." She paused and took a sip of water. "Your father may be their king, but I was their friend." Amilia looked down to the floor.
