Dishes clanked as the candle lit restaurant came alive. Music started to play and people started to dance.

"For you, my love." The boy said, giving her a rose.

"Oh, thank you." Amilia set it down next to her. "Don't think you're getting anything."

"Hey, I can always try to change your mind." Amilia rolled her eyes. "You like this restaurant, right?"

"Yes, I do. But how did you know that?"

"Unora."

"Oh, I should have known."

"Heh, yeah. It gets annoying, but at least she wants you and not the other way around. Trust me, I only wish she watched after me when I asked her for help."

"Pardon me for asking, but why did you go to her?"

"Well, I didn't know she was real to begin with. I looked for her based on a lot of lore and legend."

"You're avoiding my question."

"I lost my sister. The legends claimed she could, well, bring her back. She was the only one I ever had, it was just us, and I made a bad decision, and-"

"You got her, hurt."

"Yeah, hurt's the word."

"Did it work?"

"Yeah, yeah it did. We were happy and went on adventures and got jobs. But Unora came a calling and you know, I had to leave."

"How is your sister?"

"She's gone, she's been gone for quite some time now. But this time she died from old people stuff, so it was alright. But, you know, I'm still here, still young. Playing this never ending game with fate."

"And all you want to do is be free." The boy nodded his head.

"But enough of that, we are on a date! This is a happy occasion."

"Hello there, my name is Joshua, I will be your server tonight. Can I start you two off with drinks?"

"Uh, yeah, that'd be great. Amilia?"

"Sprite, please."

"And for you?"

"Coke please."

"Are you ready to order or do we need more time?"

"A little more time please."

"Of course." The waiter left and they looked at each other. The boy looked at her and smiled.

"You know this isn't going to work, right? I have a boyfriend and I love him. I- I've never felt like this before. I've dated other men, but, but Jasvinder's special. He makes me happy, sees me for me, he doesn't push me around or ask me to be quiet. He listens and takes me away from it all."

"I know, you've got a good man. You better hook him and hold him down." They laughed. A new song started and they went to watching the people who danced along

"So what did you think about tonight? Was it the night you had planned? With the laser tag arena and the roller skating games."

"That was interesting. I had fun at laser tag, of course. It's one of my favorite games, of which you are not good at." They laughed.

"I have never done it before."

"Well, did you like it?"

"Well, there's a first time for everything."

"Yes, you would be correct."

"What about the other thing?"
"Oh good. I've never been there on game night. It was kind of fun. Though,"

"I know, you wanted to do it with Jasvinder."

Amilia laughed, "Yeah."

"Here are your drinks, the sprite for the lady and a coke for the gentleman. Are we ready to order?"

"Yes, I am, are you?"

"I am."

Amilia started, "I will have Stroganoff without the mushrooms."

"With mashed potatoes or carrots?"

"Mashed potatoes please."

"And for you, sir?"

"Your goulash please."

"Mild, hot or spicy?"

"Mild please."

"And what would you like for your side, corn or coleslaw?"

"Corn please."

"Alrighty, let me take those from you." The waiter took the menus and then left once more.

"So you would say you're having a good time so far?"

"Yeah, it's pretty good."

"Pretty good? What is the best?"
"Oh, well there was this one guy-" She started laughing.

"What? You're going to stop there? Come on, give me the details."

Amilia laughed again, "He was crazy into me. We did everything. What he did was he laid out a trail of roses and led me to a gondola. And mind you, he was in a tuxedo, like a fancy one."

"Oh really?"

"Yes. But it didn't stop there."

"Oh?"
"No, he took me across the lake to where he had set up a beautiful candle lit piquenique."

"That's romantic."

"Oh yeah, he had everything. The sandwiches, juice cocktail, even a blanket to cover me up. But then-"

"Oh, no."

"Oh yes. We walked down the hill and he had a band at the bottom. And they played and we danced and danced and danced. Then we walked down the lake and to my surprise we found a boat. He took me back across the lake, then we went on an amazing bike ride. And finally he took me back to the orphanage." She stopped. "But only when he took me back to my room."

"That is a crazy night. No way I can top that."

"Most certainly not."

"What happened to him?"

"Leo."

"Leo?"

"Oh yeah, he got jealous and kind of chased him away."

"Mm, I see." Just then the waiter came up beside them and set down his tray on his makeshift table.

"The stroganoff for the wonderful lady, and the mild goulash for the young man."

"Thank you." They both said together. The rest of the night went great, they continued their conversation and thanked the waiter. The food was delicious as always and the boy walked Amilia home. Amilia reached the door, but before opening it she turned around.

"I had a nice night tonight. And I have to say it was a very good night off. But I'm sorry, I don't like you like that, I think it's best if we don't see each other anymore. I'm sorry." Amilia walked up to him and kissed him on the cheek. She patted him on the back and then went into the house. The boy walked back to Unora's lair and tried to walk in quietly.

"You're back late, how was it?"

"She dumped me."

"Mm, she did, did she?"

"Yes, mam." Unora turned around.

"Stay the night, you'll be free by tomorrow."

"Of course, your majesty."
