Amilia walked into the reception in her black dress, weeks after the final battle had ended. She hadn't reattended school since the accident, but that was alright. None of them really went anyway.
"Are you, alright?" Yxeyhfkx asked her.
"Yeah." She walked over to the banister and looked down to the village below.
"It's ok to not be, ok." Amilia turned to look at them.
"I know." They came up beside her, one on each side. Both of her hands contained within theirs, her right with Cristel and the left with Yxeyhfkx. He rubbed her back.
"Ebaline was a joy to have around and I will miss her as I have for the past fifty years." He looked at Amilia. "I suppose I'm saying, you will have to move on."
"Amilia, are you alright. Please, you can talk to us." Amilia shook her head and then smiled. They patted her on the back and then Yxeyhfkx extended his hand to Cristel. Cristel took it and he led her back into the reception room. Amilia pushed off of the banister herself and went out onto the balcony. She looked out to the stars and the moon, they had decided to hold the funeral top side, at night. One of her fathers old friends had a place that he said they could use, so they jumped at the opportunity. The moon and the stars were something special to Ebi, Amilia knew that. Being here, seeing her like she is, made reality become too real. She couldn't stand seeing her aunt there in the casket, in her beautiful stunning dress. Then suddenly, someone touched the back of her head.
"How are you feeling?" It was Leo who came up behind her. Leo came around and held her in a one arm hug.
"I'm feeling."
"Sad?" Amilia shook her head.
"Yeah, we all are."
"Did you know her?"
"Mhm, I called her aunt Ebi, just like you did. We had talks and she showed me things. She was an amazing aunt."
"Yeah, that she was."
"You knew her?"
"Yes, she loved the stars and the moon, helped in the war. She was an amazing person, who would do anything for her brothers."
"Sounds like her."
Amilia laughed, "Here we are again." Leo looked at her confused. "I'm here feeling sad and disconnected. And here you are coaching me through it all, trying to pull me back in." Amilia looked to him. "It's like we never left the orphanage. Or grew up into adults." She laughed again.
"I'm just trying to help."
"And I appreciate that." Amilia looked down.
"Well, you're not going to like this, but you should come back in. People are looking for you." Leo let go of her and turned to go back in. Amilia grabbed his arm and looked at him.
"I'm not ok." She said looking him in the eyes. Amilia threw herself into his arms, hugging him.
"That's ok." He responded. "I will never leave you, Amilia. I will always be here for you to lean on, I promise." He pulled her out of the hug and whipped away her tears.
"I'm not going to pretend I'm ok."
"You don't have to." Leo extended his hand to Amilia and she took it. They walked back into the reception together, Amilia leaning on Leo.
