Amilia pulled on her backpack straps as she walked to her final class of the day. At that point someone stopped her in the hallway, it was another boy from her grade.
"Hi, there." He said walking along with her.
"Uh, hi?" She said looking at him.
"Here, let me take that." He said. "Looks pretty heavy." The guy took her backpack off of her back. "Amilia, yes? I believe we have our last period together, and isn't it funny, we came from the same wing last period."
"I guess so." She said taking her bag back.
"I'm sorry, was I doing something wrong?"
"I have a boyfriend."
He laughed, "Oh I know, but there's nothing saying I can't try, call it competition for your beautiful heart." He laid a kiss on her cheek. She slapped him and then moved closer to the lockers. Amilia walked into the classroom and sat down at her desk. She took out her history book and flipped through the pages until she reached the page that was written on the board.
"Oh how funny." She heard from next to her. "Looks like me and you get to spend some more time together." He laughed and then took out his textbook. The lecture went off without an issue, and class ended as swiftly as it began. But this time she hit into the boy who was so interested in her.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." He said picking up her books and putting them into her bag. He zipped it up and then picked it up.
"Thank you, but please, back off." She harshly took her bag from him and then walked out the door. He chased after her, catching up to her in the hall. "Don't you have another class?"
"No, I have early release, just like you." He paused. "Care to join me tonight?"
"No."
"Oh, come now, open your horizons."
"No."
"We can go just as friends." Amilia stopped walking.
"No, and give me my pack back."
"You are so perceptive." Amilia took her backpack from him once more. Then she walked out of the front doors, where she could see Jasvinder. "Oh please." The boy said trying to get her to say yes.
"No." She said, motioning her hand at him.
"There a problem?" Jasvinder said, stepping in between them. The boy smiled at her once again.
"No." Jasvinder looked at him.
"The lady said no, now beat it."
"Alright, alright." The boy walked past them and Amilia got a chill.
"You alright?"
"Yeah, I just got a familiar feeling about him. I never met him, yet his aura is so familiar." Jasvinder put his hand on her shoulder.
"Well, you don't need to worry. I won't let anything happen to you." Jasvinder grabbed her around and they started their walk home.
"Gee thanks."
"So, I was thinking that if you aren't busy, maybe we could go and see a movie. I hear Carnival is supposed to be pretty good."
Amilia sighed, "You already know I can't, it's Thursday, I have lessons with Nora. And I've been trying to finish my apprenticeship too. Plus, my parents probably have something for me to do." Amilia looked down to the ground and paused. "But maybe we can plan something for this weekend, yes? Maybe you'd like to dance in the ballroom? Or go out to lunch?"
