Several days passed and no sign of Amilia showed. Oglm was constantly making up excuses to tell her school. And apparently, she has the stomach flu. Oglm knew that wouldn't buy him much time, that's a three day to seven day sickness, including weekends. But it could just morph into the flu, which he hadn't quite thought about yet. He passed around the living room for quite some time. "Elsie!" He yelled up the stairs. "Let's go see your brother!" Elsie came bumbling down the stairs. They walked together to the wall and then to the hospital where Jasvinder was. "How are you feeling today?" Elsie asked him.
"Better."
"Mom and dad are starting to get suspicious, I'll need to think of a different excuse tonight."
"Of course. When did they say I could leave?"
"They didn't."
"Ugh." He groaned.
"I know, but you're in no condition to be doing anything."
"Have you found her yet?"
"I'm afraid not."
"Where could she be? Where can you hide for a week?"
"Not many places around here, we set off a worldwide search, she's bound to show up somewhere, even if she's in a nook and cranny."
Unora banged on the bars with a cup. It made the loudest sound, and it was three in the morning. "Hello, dearest. Care to talk?"
"Not really."
"Come now, you should eat. Keeping you alive with spells are not ideal." She paused. "You know, your father made every one of your meals. Your kind of being rude."
"Really?"
"Have you changed your mind?" Amilia sat up. "No. Of course not." She slammed her body back down. "You told him what to cook, he never touched his spirit to the dish."
"Well, if you want to think of it that way, then yes, yes he did." Unora opened the cage and dragged Amilia out by her shirt. She let go of her and Amilia just laid on the floor. "Come, get up." Unora slapped her a bit on the cheek. Amilia sat up and glared at Unora, something viscous. She motioned her hand and Yxeyhzfkx came down the stairs and beside him was Nim.
"Nim?" Nim went to say something, but Yxeyhfkx motioned his hand. And after that she didn't say a word.
"We are going to practice."
"Practice what?" Amilia asked.
"Everything."
Amilia looked at her confused.
"Just because you are no longer under my gracious control, doesn't mean we are just going to stop your training while you're here. Come now, get up, get up."
Amilia sat there shrugging at Unora. That's when Yxeyhfkx walked over to behind her. "Up." Unora said. Amilia didn't listen of course, so in turn, Yxeyhfkx whipped her on her back. She jumped up after he did and looked back at him. He had his usual angered face on. "Ready to begin?" Unora asked her.
"Of course not, but I see there's no other way." She said rubbing her back.
"Come." Unora said, beginning to walk away. Amilia looked back to Yxeyhfkx who motioned her to move. And when she didn't he gripped the whip tightly with his hand. Amilia grunted and then followed Unora. Yxeyhfkx followed her closely from behind and Nim trailed behind him as well. Unora took them all into the arena that they trained for fights in. Unora usually makes figures with her magic, and occasionally fraught with Amilia. But, of course, this was a special circumstance. Amilia crossed her arms and leaned on one foot.
"Alright, who am I fighting today?"
Unora paused and turned around.
"Nim." She said. Amilia's determined face was lost when she said that name. Nim was stunned as well.
"Listen to Unora, Nim." Yxeyhfkx said. Nim looked from Yxeyhfkx to Unora and then over to Amilia. Yxeyhfkx motioned his hand out to the floor in front of him. "Go, get into position." He moved over next to Unora. Unora took him by the hand and leaned on him a bit. Amilia looked in disgust at her.
"Can you at least not coo him, in my presence?" Unora laughed.
"Are you going to tell me the name?"
"No."
"Well then you have your answer." Unora took him and went up to the balcony where they sat to watch them train. After a few minutes they both stood and at the same time they said, "Begin." They stood there for a moment, watching each other. That's when Amilia ran towards Nim, realizing if something didn't happen one of them was in trouble. She missed of course, and Nim struck back. Nim didn't catch her either.
"Why are you listening to Hix?" She asked her punching again. Nim didn't say anything. Amilia went to kick her, "Well, aren't you going to answer me."
"You won't like that answer."
"Try me." Amilia said ducking.
"In the forest," Nim thrusted. "After they took you away," Nim blocked. "Somehow my branding changed." She paused. "From a M to a Y." Nim struck one in Amilia and then stopped to catch her breath. "And this one is different... it has magic attached to it. I'm afraid that if I disobey him, well, something bad might happen."
"That's terrible." Amilia said, lunging to her side. Then Nim landed another hit on her, sending her twirling across the room. Amilia landed on her left side, away from Nim.
"Keep your arms up." Nim said. "You let down your guard too much." Amilia got up and threw one at her and Nim stepped back, avoiding it.
"Thank you." Amilia said back to her. "I'll keep that in mind."Amilia threw another hit, but to no avail. By the time they reached thirty minutes, Unora was bored of seeing Amilia be beaten.
"That's enough." Unora said loudly. She waved her hand and stood up. She came onto the floor, with her father of course. "Have you just lost everything I taught you? Have you not been training, even with me as a significant threat now?" She lifted Amilia's head up with her fist. She helped Amilia up by grabbing her hand and pulling. Unora looked over to Nim, who wasn't too far away from her. "Good job." She said looking at her. "I don't see many good protectors now a days, but I can see you're very old fashioned." Unora didn't let go of Amilia for a single second, she dragged her right on into another room. This time it had a piano in it, it was the music room. "You're going to learn a new song. You'll learn it from Jero." She said pointing. Unora threw Amilia into the room and then closed and locked the door.
"I see you went behind my back."
"I did not want to." She said in her accent. "But tis I who can not disobey Unora." She paused. "Now, what song do you want to play?" Amilia looked at the many different covers on the piano. Then finally, she pointed to one.
