Yxeyhfkx walked through the Market with his nice little basket. He was picking out food for dinner. As he walked further and further down the road he heard clanging. It seemed to be coming from Oglm's metal shop. He had seen Oglm this morning heading into the council building, so he knew it wasn't him. That's when he determined it must have been Amilia. He decided to walk down to his shop and see what she was up to.
"Hi there!" Yxeyhfkx said waving at her.
"Oh, hey." she said lifting up her goggles. "Did you need something?"
"Yes. Were you staying the night tonight?"
"I don't know. I'm manning the shop until Oglm gets back from his trip. He could come back tonight or tomorrow. I'll have to keep the shop open until closing time."
"So, no then?"
"I just don't know, I'm sorry. I'm his apprentice, he told me to do this, so I have to do it."
"Yeah, I know. We'll have to have dinner another night then."
"Thank you for understanding. I know I haven't been around a ton, but I'll try to make more of an effort."
"Alright then, I'll see you soon Amilia." Amilia nodded her head at him. He began to walk away from the stand in almost the opposite direction (the way he came). Amilia was always so busy and she hardly spent anytime with him or Cristell at all. He wanted her to come to dinner and stay the night more often, but he knew she was busy. The only time he could see her was when they were training. But that was no fun, of course. Amilia always seemed to hate his training style. He repeated many things, even the things she already was taught by Akxfo. Maybe I can rethink my training strategy, He thought. Put some fun into it. He reached the door to his small house and opened it.
"Welcome home!" Cristell said from the living room as she saw him come in. "What's the matter?" she said coming up to him.
"Amilia won't be joining us again."
"I'm sorry, Wix, but you know she's busy."
"Yeah, I know, I just wish that she could come at least once in a while. I mean, it's been months since we have last seen her."
"I know, sweetheart, but Amilia is eighteen now. She has to decide her own path."
"I know, I just want to help her get there. I mean we're her parents and look at us! We're not even in her life."
"They all have to leave the nest sometime, sweetheart." She rubbed his shoulders. "Come on, let's go make dinner." Yxeyhfkx smiled and shook his head. They made dinner together and soon enough he went outside to their little garden. He sat down on the bench they had put out there. He had his head in his arms, it was Amilia who had introduced UV lights to the Market. She started her demonstration at Yxeyhfkx's house. He had all types of flowers in his backyard. It actually resembled what a normal yard looked like above ground, not that he had ever been. The more he saw the more he realized what Amilia had given him. It was late by the time he came into the house. Cristell was already upstairs and in her bed. Yxeyhfkx was at the bottom of the stairs when he fell and put his fist to his heart. He held onto the railing with his other hand. He heard one voice,
She's abandoned you hasn't she? Your little girl doesn't want you anymore, I can help you with that. Yxeyhfkx tried to stand up straight but staggered back down onto the floor. He saw a shaky figure through the door to the living room.
"Unora?" He whispered. He shook his head, trying to snap himself out of it.
Oh, she's gone baby, she doesn't love you anymore. Your dearest Nsefen was taken away from you by dear, old, Amilia. He smashed the floor.
"Get out of my head witch!" he said smacking himself.
She is gone. Yxeyhfkx crunched his teeth together.
"She will pay." his eyes turned purple until finally all they did was glow that color.
