Amilia walked out the door as she had finished school for the day. It would be a busy day, as always. From walking home, to doing homework at the crack of dawn. Today she was training with Unora first, but had the rare speciality of a home session. She hadn't the fondest idea though, Amilia had gotten a text at school from her, without explanation. Amilia stopped and waited for Jasvinder and Elsie.
"Well look who it is!" Elsie said coming up to Amilia.
"You're one to talk, I haven't seen much of you either."
"Yeah, I suppose I've been busy."
"Really?"
"Yes, between work, school, dance, and whatever Leo needs me to do."
"How's that?"
"Oh, it's... it's different. He's busy doing prince stuff, and you know, training my brother."
"Are you two still-"
"Oh, yes, we just spend most days in Catalin is all."
"Ah, I see."
"Hey, Amilia, El, sorry I'm late, the teacher wanted to speak with me."
Amilia laughed, "Not an issue." She grabbed his hand and they all started to walk. Amilia and Jasvinder hopped along, swaying their arms as usual. It was a quiet walk to the road sign and then a quick goodbye as Amilia rushed home. She threw her backpack down and once again ran out the door, she went to the palace and up to Camilia's study. It was a nice little room, full of books and many different elixirs. And to no surprise, Unora was already there.
"Hello there, Amilia." Unora said, turning around. Camilia looked at both of them and then left the room. She did end up taking the job that Cristel had offered her. Unora didn't twist that memory too much, as she knew where Camilia was from. "Well, it is about time to see your father, shall we go?"
"See my father?" She questioned.
"Why do you think I am here, my darling? He tracked me down and asked me to come to the palace later after you were out of school. Now, come, this is cutting into our precious training time." Unora opened the door and Amilia followed. They walked all the way to the throne room, where her parents seemed to be.
"Nora, Amilia, welcome!" Yxeyhzfkx said walking to them.
"Good evening, your majesty." Unora said bowing.
"And to you as well, beautiful mage." Unora giggled as if she was flattered.
"May I ask why you requested us here, your majesty?"
"Ah, yes, of course." He paused, "I wanted to see how much Amilia has excelled, I actually wanted to propose a monthly check in."
"Oh, but of course, your majesty. She is your daughter, after all."
"Wonderful! Come, let us go." He waved them on and they followed. They came to the corridor and then they stopped. They weren't the only one's there, as the knights and guards trained there. Akxfo and Leo seemed to be sparring and Jero was practicing her spells. Yxeyhzfkx clapped his hands and the many people stopped and looked at him. "Alright, let's clear the arena, please," Everyone started to clear out. "Not you three." He said pointing. "Comeon, get back here." The three of them scurried over to him. "Leovan, go to the back, Akxfo, you have the front. Camilia, you will be facing off against Amilia, Nora you will be helping me moderate." He motioned to his side and she slowly walked away from Amilia and to him. Yxeyhzfkx put his hand on Nora's shoulder. "Are you alright, Nora? I'm sure Amilia will do just fine." Unora hadn't been in a kingdom with a king in decades. You could say that it really did upset her. But, anyhow, Amilia and Camilia started and at level one, Amilia easily held her ground and kept Camilia at bay. It wasn't until the fifth level that Amilia lost. Yxeyhzfkx clapped and Unora stepped in to make sure no one attacked each other. "Good job Amilia! You are very good at this. I see you have a wonderful teacher." Unora walked over to Amilia and grabbed her up in a single arm hug.
"That's my apprentice for you, hard working, and willing to learn!"
"Well, Nora, I hope that was a good enough session for you, I really wanted to spend some time with my daughter today, if you don't mind."
"Of course, your majesty, she is your daughter."
"Thank you Miss. Nora. Feel free to stay as long as you would like."
"Oh, no, I shan't overstay my welcome, I'll see myself out, your majesty." She bowed to him and then started to walk out of the palace.
Yxeyhzfkx laughed, "Amilia, my darling." He scooped her up in a hug and then kept his right arm around her and began to walk. "That was wonderful! I've never seen such amazing feats of magic." Amilia smiled at him. "She is very protective of you, isn't she?"
"Yeah."
"Mm. I guess I will have to have a talk with her. It's a good thing she is protective, but I would say she worries as if she was your mother."
"Yeah, she worries like that sometimes."
"Well," He said, shaking her a little bit, "You will get to stay here a little while, I suppose, that is if you want to."
"But I thought you told Nora-"
"Oh, hogwash. She overworks you, you need a day off, my dear."
"Gee, that's nice of you Hix."
He laughed.
"What?"
"You look nearly exactly like my Nsefen, yet you're a completely different person," He laughed again, "I guess it is true what they say. You can clone a person, but they will never truly be the same." He messed up her hair and just looked at her. "I suppose I'm glad to have met you, Amilia, to have the opportunity to be your father."
"Are you ok? You're not sick are you?"
"No, no, I'm perfectly healthy. I just had a weird feeling like you weren't around anymore, even though you stop by everyday. I don't know what I would do if I lost you."
Amilia hesitantly laughed.
"Amilia!" Cristel said, grabbing her hands from behind and twirling her around. She gave her a hug and then backed away from her. "How is my darling today?"
"Good, good."
"Well look who it is!" Leo said coming up the hallway as well. He gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Nice to grace your acquaintance, your majesty."
"You as well, your majesty." Amilia said bowing. They all walked together down the hallway and into the library. "You did an amazing job today Amilia."
"Oh that's right, you had the duel today. How did that go?"
"She got to level five." Yxeyhzfkx said.
"Oh wonderful!" Cristel said, clapping, "Oh! We should celebrate! What do you want?"
"I don't need anything." Amilia said, looking to her.
"A cake?"
"No."
"A little gala?"
"No."
"Huh," She gasped. "Noise makers!"
"No, mom, it's ok!" She said frustrated. The room fell silent and everyone looked at Amilia.
"What? Did I do something wrong?" Cristel put her hands to her cheeks and silently squealed. Yxeyhzfkx's jaw dropped and Leo just looked at her.
"You called me mom!" She screamed. "You called me mom! Oh Amilia!" She jumped up from her chair and collapsed onto Amilia, giving her a big hug. "My baby girl." Cristel finally let up after a few minutes, but sat in front of Amilia and just watched her.
Yxeyhzfkx laughed and then put his hand to his heart, Leo just smiled.
"There it is." Leo said. "There it is."
