Amilia walked the hallways like she did every weekday for the past year. She had a schedule down to a science, but today she had a mission. And it wasn't to ace all of her tests. She had planned to ask Mr. Beath a question. Along came that grueling English period and Amilia did her best to get to his class on time. She came in and sat down like usual, taking out her books and notepad. She had to get through the lesson before she could ask the question. So being the person she was, Amilia continually tapped her pencil throughout the period, giving Mr. Beath a complex the whole time. Even though Amilia was worried, she was also very smart. She knew that Mr. Beath would have to speak with her after class because he would be worried if she was alright or not. Especially with the whole Unora thing that has been going on. And that is exactly what he did. He waited by her desk as the bell dismissed his period, and out the door all of his students went.
"Are yo-"
"I have a question for you."
"Well," He laughed, "ask away." He said as he sat down across from her at a desk.
"Can you help me find out how to beat Unora?"
"What makes you think I can find out this information?"
"You are one of the smartest people I know, I mean you were my history and english teacher."
"Were my history teacher and are my english teacher." He paused, "You must pay more attention in my class."
"You're not answering my question."
"Well, I'm not too sure, Miss. Cripple." He paused. "I no longer serve Cristel, and you gave me my free will, but previously I took orders from your mother, but I got dragged back to Cotalose and became loyal to your father, the king. As for the second time, I was left here, but as you know, I lost track of Cristel." He paused again. "That's when I became loyal to the Chelanema royalty, I served as a royal guard for the family for some time. Taking on missions for them."
"And that has to do with this because..."
"I fathom the Chelenema royalty, I live there actually. And seeing that the royals have pulled from the council's affairs, well, I probably shouldn't dabble within it, seeing as I could be reprimanded by the royals themselves. And I don't want to disappoint them, you see they are my king and queen."
"So you won't help me?"
"Now, I never said that. I will ask my king and queen and get back to you. They know of my origin and respect that, so they may be more lenient than I am thinking."
"Do you want to help me?"
"I can't say that I do, yet I can't say that I don't. I'll get back to you as soon as I can." He said as he wrote out a pass for her. He tore off the piece of paper from the rest of them and handed it to her. "You don't want to be too late to your next class." Amilia took the pass from him, grabbed her bag and went to the door. Right before she left she turned to him.
"You know, you are really confusing." She walked out the door and went to her next period. The rest of the day was a mystery for Amilia. Her mind paced, because, as always, the waiting was the hard part.
"Hi there, little missy." Jasvinder said, coming up to her. He stroked her hair and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, just thinking."
"Are you sure that's it?"
"Yes, yes, that's it."
Jasvinder laughed, "Alright." He grabbed her hand. Leo and Elsie came up behind them and then the four and them started off. The walk home was mostly quiet with Leo and Elsie mumbling here and there. When they came to the corner Jasvinder kissed Amilia goodbye and Leo gave Elsie a big bear hug while picking her up. They waved to each other as they turned to walk the rest of the way. As soon as they were out of earshot Leo began to talk.
