Ch 30: Rivals

''Don't tell me this is about yesterday's report? Want me to do it over?'' I sat down in a hurry at Mr. Kang his office knowing I was late. Mr. Kang was seated behind his desk in the big chair while Namgi was standing next to him. 

Why does this look like they came to interrogate me? 

''No, it's not work-related'' Namgi chuckled softly. Somehow his voice was appearing nervous. 

''Then....?''

Namgi cleared his throat before stepping forward a bit more. He awkwardly took a pose but seconds later decided to shift his hands from his hips to his chest crossing them. 

''I'm also a vampire.'' Just when Namgi was to speak Mr. Kang was him first.

Mr. Kang...?? Wait did I hear that right?

''A Boss I think we should have delivered it in a different wa-''

''Wait....'' As if my brain wasn't already exploding because of everything that was going on today. 

I held out my hand in a stop sign while my other was pinching my nose trying to make any sense out of this. 

It's not a big thing if Mr. Kang would be one but.

''But.....you have a wife and a little daughter. Are they also? That can't be...'' I noticed them just letting me talk while I lowered my hands again. 

''I saw your daughter multiple times. According to the stories she shouldn't be able to control her eye color at that age.'' 

''That's right.'' Mr. Kang smiled proudly making me confused for a split second. 

''You really are sharp Y/N. My wife and daughter are human. Well, my daughter is half-human to be exact, but she doesn't experience all the things we vampires have. I think it's because she is still too young but till now she hasn't developed any blood cravings yet.'' 

Mr. Kang his wife is human? They are married and have a child and Mr. Kang just lives his life like a normal human being...Hearing it and seeing it with my own eyes made me realize that. It really is possible.

''You knew?'' I locked eyes with Namgi seeing him nervously shift on his spot. 

''Yeah....'' 

''Makes sense tho, but what is with this random coming out to me thing?'' Don't get me wrong I feel grateful that Mr. Kang trusts me this much to tell me such a big secret but I'm sure there is a logical reason behind it. 

''A group of villains you could say entered our borders.'' Hearing Mr. Kang say this made me freeze.

''Y-You guys know about it too.'' I stated causing Namgi to run up to me in a hurry. 

''You know?!'' He questioned slightly pinching my arm.

''Yeah, we had a briefing about it at Mr. Lee his office.'' A snicker came from Mr. Kang as he sank back into his seat. 

''Ah, you know Junsu.'' Is that Mr. Lee his first name?

It seems we have some explaining to do.

''I had a call with Junsu not too long ago. It was after your briefing. We didn't exactly know where they were but I got some intel today....'' Mr. Kang stopped before looking at Namgi.
