Ch 9: Everyone has a secret

''Y/N someone from the marketing department made a huge mess out of these files. They are out of order and some of the reports were done half-assed. Fix them for me'' My boss dropped the files on my desk making me crack a smile. 

Why do I always have to fix everyone else their messed up work?!

''No problem....'' I smiled before releasing a sigh, To my surprise, my boss stayed beside my chair slightly rubbing his nape. 

''I know I'm always putting much work on you, but that's because you're a good employee. I'll have a word with the marketing department tomorrow and I'll make sure to reward you for all the good work you have delivered me this year. How about a raise?'' Hearing him say this I instantly jumped out of my chair bowing my head. 

Our boss is one of the toughest people there is. People who dared to ask him for a raise got fired and he is always very strict and doesn't show any affection at all. So hearing these words coming from him....made me really happy.

''Thank you so much!'' I bowed a thousand times seeing him chuckle before taking his leave.

A whistle came from behind me once I seated back down again. 

''Way to go Y/N'' Namgi spoke rolling his chair beside me with a grin. 

''Guess all those late night overworking times did pay off'' I smiled proud as  I focused back on my work. 

''True. We really are glad that you're back again. We really missed yo-''

''Yeah we really missed you Y/N-ah!!!'' I felt my cheeks getting squashed having Byeol suddenly appear out of nowhere hugging me tightly. 

''Hey don't just interrupt when someone is talk-''

''Stop complaining, it's not like Y/N even cared about what you sa-''

''Hey guys.....isn't Hyemi here today?'' I interrupted the two quarreling as I scanned around the office. Namgi his seat his behind me, Byeol her seat is across of mine and Hyemi is supposed to be next to me. 

How can I have noticed only now?

''Maybe she called in sick?'' Namgi pointed out making me nod. 

That could be possible......but why do I feel so restless?

''See you guys tomorrow!'' I watched Byeol her vibrant smile as she waved both Namgi and I goodbye before stepping into her fiancee car. 

''It's late, I'll walk you home'' Hearing Namgi suddenly propose that made me freeze on the spot. 

''Huh? Oh no need! I'm sure you're tired, you can just go home I'll be fine.''  I have known him longer than today so I know that he won't change his mind. 

''What are you panicking about I always walk you home when I can, even during middle school'' He grinned as he started walking. 

That's right Namgi and I are actually friends from middle school, we separated when we started going to highschool and till my surprise one year ago he came rolling into this company. It's like faith brought us back together. 

What should I say? He doesn't know that I moved...Should I just tell him?
