''Why were we cursed like this?!''

''She is a monster. We should have just killed her when she was still a baby.''

''Honey, don't say that....''

It's mom and dad......they are fighting again. Because of me.

''Don't say that?! At first, it was a bird, but it's a cat this time! A cat she was feeding on! What next? What if she starts feeding on people, killing them like that.''

Mom is angry again. Is it wrong to feed when you're hungry?

''She just...doesn't know how to control herself yet. She is still young, only 12 years old.''

''Stop defending her, you heard her say it too! She doesn't feed to take care of her energy level. She feeds because she is hungry.''

''Honey just.....let's stop this okay. What if she will hear you? Doctor Yamakai is stopping by later today to check on her. I'm sure he knows what we should do.''

That scary man is going to come again...

Just when am I going to escape from here?

It hurts....my body, my head.....my heart. 

I couldn't stop thinking about the several tests they were doing on me last night. I was wrapped up in bandages, my body wasn't able to regenerate fast enough.

Ever since I have been little and my parents discovered I was different from our kind, they invited a doctor over. It has been almost 4 years....he would come to pick me up every Saturday night, and bring me to his lab. He and....his people would test me. It was to help figure out what I was....to help me, to cure me they said. 

My ears focussed on the footsteps outside my bedroom, it didn't take long before the door flung open revealing Junsu entering. There is always this one particular feeling I would get when seeing him.

Jealousy.

Junsu was the son of my parents their great friends. They would visit often and bring along their son, because we are off the same age they encouraged us to become friends. His parents to be precise. My mom told them at first that it would be better to stay away from me, but they insisted. 

I was jealous of Junsu, he was my age and got to live in full bliss. His parents are kind and caring, he goes to school, hang out with friends.....see the outside world. 

While I am stuck here in this mansion....ever since my parents discovered I was different. 

They tell them I am ill. One of the reasons they don't want people to meet me is so I can't infect them. That was the reason my mother also used to keep Junsu away from me. I had an illness that made my body vulnerable. I couldn't go outside, or come in contact with too many people. Cause my body would fall ill quickly making it life-threatening. One of the reasons why my eyes were always red and my skin pale.

What a load of crap. 

''You're going to spend your 16th birthday hold up in your room?'' 

Is it my birthday today? 

Does it even matter? When I'm staying locked up like this....things like that...don't matter.

Junsu came to a hold rather quickly once he took in my appearance. 

''What happened?! Did you go outside or something? Why are you covered in bandages?''

I was surprised that my parents actually let him up into my room, knowing what state I am in.
